To the best of my knowledge, The Other is the first, and currently only that we know of, sentient, hyper-intelligent entity, born IN the Sleeper's digital world.

Makes me think that the Hunger of Nothing connects with it as it never had a physical body ever and as such could be considered 'nothing'.

Good call. It hungers for physical existence, despite being, physically, nothing.

Something without a body...

Before the appearance of Caroline's Star, there was a message in IGS from a missing scientist (this is part of the storyline, a developing one outside of the novels) asking for some rather odd stuff.

After that a garbled message came through from said scientist claiming that he is being held captive and the initial message was false.

So "something" tried to impersonate a long missing and famous scientist and get stuff from us that basically amounted to stuff you might use to build a clone.

It's either the Other or the Sleepers who are posing as Tukoss- personally, I believe it's the sleepers.

He's apparently trapped in Anoikis- and if the Jovian body parts are being collected, who's to say it couldn't be the Sleepers choosing to do what they can to reverse the Jovian Disease (which they created)? To come together against a common enemy, I believe that could be an option and a very effective tool to encourage cooperation.

While it may be possible that the Other is encouraging the collection instead, I see no reason for it to need specifically Jovian biomass- if it wanted a body, it could easily take it- and as it is, it already controls Jamyl. If it wanted a body, I'm quite certain it would have one by now P

(I've donated a couple of Ambassador Baniya's parts myself- that's how confident I am that it's the sleepers Big smile)

Is that the scientist who had some mysterious revelation during the big release of t2 items and went off into the wilderness after leaving a cryptic note about finding the truth? Because, if so, they sure have been playing the long game, haven't they? I always wondered what had happened to him and it's been so long I forgot about him.

I remember hearing, many many years ago, that CCP's design for EVE's fictional story, given how much of the game is player-driven, was to have it literally unfold in real-time as the characters would have it. This means the story has always been planned to play out over the entire lifetime of the game.

Whereas normal games release expansions to tell a new story, CCP have aimed for the long game, as you said, and are telling one story in real time, so we feel the gravity of each moment as intensely as it is meant to be felt.

I don't know if that's still true but it IS what I remember hearing.

Looks like I was thinking of someone else. her name was Ariko and she was in this chronicle http://community.eveonline.com/backstory/short-stories/crielere/. I sort of wonder what happened to her though.

Well, in the spirit of "player involvement", she probably got blapped in 2 seconds of hitting a nullsec bubble camp end of story that's all.

So... no more content or backstory. Now go look at your ISK or stats.

I went to Thera last night to find answers, but only found more questions.
-not every planet was destroyed during cataclysm. There are few outer planets that survived it.
-sisters were there when it happend.
-sun is unstable.
-in the center near the sun there are few destroyed structures (talocans and sleepers), unstable wormholes and rifts (propably lethal), some kind of gate mechanisms (talocan), talocan destroyer (either disabled or abandoned)
-there are also remnants of Hel supercarrier, described as thukker tribe lost caravan ship.
-awaken sleepers are sitting at all above
-remnants of the station with samples from thera system.

For me it looks like "they" charged gates/wormhole generators by energy coming directly from star. Something went wrong.

Thera is somewhere I'd like to visit but i'm currently still a bit unfamiliar with WH space, being new to it. I might have to wait until I'm a bit more experienced, since last I heard it was a volatile place :P

Take a trusty cloaky scanning frigate. Use Eve Scout to get in. You can find updated connections on their website, and they'll happily scout out the other side of the hole for you. Once you're in, drop a safe spot (the system is massive so plenty of room to do that). Sight see to your hearts content, and you're on your own for getting out.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm halfway thinking the fourth person inhabited by the Other has something to do with the lost Thukker caravan.

The remains of the Martyrhan, a carrier from the Lakat-Hro Caravan, were recently found in Thera.

Yeah, that's my basis for that one. It's flimsy though.
