I did some math and came to these figures for a small Caldari POS without the need for star base charters such as setting up in a WH, just wanted to see if any POS owners can verify if im in the ~approx neighborhood of isk for 1 month of operating cost (not including defences)

720 robotics $54,000,000 isk
540 oxygen isotopes $1,688,400 isk
1440 mechanical parts $16,288,800 isk
720 enriched uranium $9,351,280 isk
1440 coolant $14,112,000
81360 nitrogen isotopes $35,635,680 isk
27360 liquid ozone $11,027,448 isk
27360 heavy water $5,111,668 isk
72000 strontium clathrates $35,049,680

total $217,314,556 isk for month of fuel
POS cost $68,000,000 isk
total cost = $285,314,556 isk
(not including star charter reports)

You're including the strontium as part of the monthly fuel bill. The tower only burns stront when in reinforced mode; unless you plan on your tower getting reinforced multiple times per month, you can count the stront as an up-front cost. Your numbers look otherwise correct.

That said, two things:

  1. Unless you're using this tower as a temporary base of operations, you really want to budget for at least a medium if not large. A small tower will go down very easily to a coordinated attack; a medium d*ckstar will be much more of a pain to take down and will give you room to grow.
  2. You might want to hold off until the fuel market adjusts to fuel cubes.

Eh, assuming that the costs for the PI-sourced fuels only go up about 25% from last month and isotopes stay around 500 ISK/u:

105 / 207 / 412 (S/M/L per 30 days)

If isotopes go up to 600, then:

112 / 221 / 441

Over the course of a year, it tends to flow up/down by about 20%. So you'll probably want to mine / process a bit and/or always keep a few months in reserve so that you can ride out temporary price spikes. Large towers have been as low as 320-350 this year (per 30d), but it's been more like 380-420 the past few months with a small spike to 480-500 in October.

(Prices based on existing prices in the hi-sec trade-hubs, with a few assumptions thrown in.)

Ok, i'm not really trying to put up a POS myself but want to see about maybe trading fuel for a POS for a few hours in a WH without being hunted by the owners of said WH and be allowed to mine some of the grav spawns in there, if I can pay a weeks worth of fuel in exchange for liberties, i may be worth it for me, a sort of rent, just havent figured out how it can be done without one or the other betraying each other...cause eve is full of saints as we know.
