I recently completed all 4 Epic Arcs and chose the paths that would increase faction standing over those that gave the best ISK rewards. After completion I had roughly 700-800 million ISK. As I blitzed whenever possible and did not salvage variations could come from bounties etc. Each Faction Arc took approximately 6-8 hours at a casual pace. Even with choosing the ISK rewards instead of straight standings I believe the income would have only been about 300 million higher, which is still quite below the expected missioning income/hour.

You get a (the same) faction standing reward regardless of the ending you choose. Just sayin'.

Not in all cases.

Oh? When do you not get a faction standing increase? Roll

Most of the arcs have multiple paths which each reward different amounts of faction standing or items.

Most notably :

Amarr Epic arc can reward Amarr Empire standings or Sansha's Nation standings.

Gallente Epic arc can reward Gallente Federation standing or Syndicate standing.

Caldari Epic arc can reward Caldari State faction standing or slightly less faction standing.

Minmatar Epic arc can reward Minmatar faction standing or RSS Probes and slightly less faction standing.

This awesome site helped me a lot. In addition to enemy ships, waves and spawns, triggers, etc., it also lists their resists and total DPS, so it is really easy to get necessary ammo and resists for missions. The bottom of the page it has epic arc missions, and so far I havent had an encounter mission that wasnt there.

Thanks for the posts guys.

I can't fit everything in the MOTD but this forum thread is linked in the channel so people can either arrive here and visit the channel and hopefully find other people interested in the arcs, or the reverse and find great resources here Big smile

One thing that's bugged me is the issues with Minmatar Arc mission "Heresiology". There seems to be no way to avoid the Ammatar standing hit. It is true, only the Detective gives a large hit (-3% I believe), but killing any ship will give you the -0.075% per tick hit. While this is small, since there is no way to repair Ammatar without screwing with everything else, over the long term it adds up.

I've tried having one ship tank the dps at about ~100km away while using a cov ops to hack / warp on grid (cause the rats switch to your hacker)/ repeat but this seems to bug the mission. The cans stop respawning after 6 or so.

Has anyone come up with something that works?

Great advice..... I do petition it, they reset the mission and I'm back to square one.

I got to 11 cans before they stopped spawning by killing the battleships and cruisers and tanking the frigates and detectives but I could not get the twefth to spawn.

Yeah this mission definitely has some randomness ever since they got rid of loot spew.

For me, I just build a Drake that could passive tank 950 EM/TH dps (by my math there was 856 on grid) and had relic analyzer. It was painful slowboating between all the cans, but the mission item actually dropped out of cargo spawn following my 7th or so hack. I had a Mobile Depot and Medium MJD in the hold just in case I needed to jump out of any scrams. So FINALLY I was able to do this mission w/o an Ammatar hit.

The big change I noticed was any previously hacked cans now appear unlocked after hacking but randomly relock on a failed hack or if you take too long.

However I spent 3 or 4 hours on this (so maybe 100 succesful hacks) and could not get past 11 hacked cans. Two cargo drops spawned but they were the two "rubbish" document you always got.

Whenever I run the Epic Arcs, I always check and update Eve Survival Mission Reports as needed. When I ran that mission back in Oct 2014, there was only 3 containers on warp in. After a successful hack another container would spawn which also needed to be hacked.

Total amount of containers needing to be hacked was 6.

Now I see people posting different amounts of containers spawning that need to be hacked. If that's the case then the mission is definitely bugged.

Ask for mission objective and mission complete so you can turn in. I've done this mission on 3 toons and neither was able to complete.
Used to be 4 cans, after hacking one can you would open 1 more, up to 3 more per originals, ending up with 16 cans. 16th can would drop objective, so far I've managed to open 6 of them 2 times and once 5 of them

Shows we all have something to learn : I never even noticed the standings loss!

I can't decide if I'm happy to know about it or annoyed that it's another issue to deal with Big smile

Yeah, for a long time there was 4 cans present upon warping to the site which needed to be hacked. Total amount of cans needing to be hacked was 12.

Quote:
The sequence :

1st Original can / hack = spawn can / hack = spawn can / hack = spawn can / loot = Document

2nd Original can / hack = spawn can / hack = spawn can / hack = spawn can / loot = Document

3rd Original can / hack = spawn can / hack = spawn can / hack = spawn can / loot = Document

4th Original can / hack = spawn can / hack = spawn can / hack = spawn can / loot = Obsidian Orb

When I did the arc in Oct of 2014, there were only 3 cans present upon warping to the site which needed to be hacked. The total amount of cans needing to be hacked was 6.

My question is how many cans are present now upon warping to the site ?

As I mentioned in the other thread - three .

- Hacking two of those changed their status to "unlocked" but created no new spawns.
- Hacking the third one spawned a fourth.
- In my case I ended up with 11 cans in 3 groups of 4-4-3
- I also got two documents presumably one from each of the two groups of 4 (though I did not take note at the time)
- Presumably getting a 4th can to spawn in the three group and hacking it will give the orb
- i was not able to get the twelfth can to spawn though there may be some "trick" to this I am unable to work out

I imagine the returns are much better if you just dont do the minmatar arc with its awful awful rewards.
