Extremely frequent disconnections

I came back to this game after a 3-year break hoping that all of the connection issues would be sorted given it three years, plus getting a) new internet and b) a new computer... but I get frequent disconnections still? My game stalls for about 3 minutes and then I get disconnected for bad packets. What's up with this? My internet is working just fine as well, because I'm posting this right now as I'm disconnecting from the game. What do I do to solve this?
