Big question to CCP, where we get the dev blog about about next changes that will impact SOV.
Less than 3 weeks left till next release.

Please CCP, give us some info , and not worst than phoebe reason to click the resub button.

Nothing substantial coming in Rhea, I'm afraid; more information as the things we're working on become ready for public viewing.

That is a sad news.
3 Things
1.
I hope you are aware that before putting JF range to 5years more smaller alliances have to put their own foot hold in the SOV.
Starting the industry from scratch takes time and a lot of resources.

2.
Have you thought about increasing sov bill costs for each systems?
For how long upkeep for 1 system is 180mil per month , how much during this time isk lost its value?
I think that if you double or triple the cost of SOV bill we can get positive change on the eve map.
Why?

As some space is being held now by renter empires only because those costs are minimal in current eve universe.
If you tipple those costs big renter empires will have to ask them self , keep all those 0.0 : -0.3 ss systems that no one wants , or drop there sov to cut costs.

Those systems should be enough for smaller alliances to start building their empires , and when i say empires, i'm not talking about 500 systems under one banner, but people that want 1 or 2 stations and 5 systems under their banner.

I think they are more than willing to pay 3 times bigger sov bil just for ability to call some space "HOME"

3.
Last item.
Have you thought about increasing the randomness of timers?
We are currently sieging some sov space.
Issue is not in EHP, or the local people ( as no one is living in this space any more ) but again timers:
- you can shoot a station into first reinforce timer using 2 oracles - no one cares
- you can usually do the same on the second timer - no one cares
- you will get big bloob on the last timer , that will leave just after reaping structure.

Last timer is always planed this way that it will come out in the best TZ for blob ( i know this was planed).
Still with all those changes , haven you thought about increasing randomness of timers?
If you increase base randomness of a timer to +- 12h you will put more pressure on defending each timer , rather than on reseting the RF process on the last one.

Average users:

Week: 26360
Month: 25539
Three months: 25124
Six Months: 25852
Year: 28235

So we've had a drop of 7,1% in average users this week compared to yearly average. Increase of 3,2% compared to last month and an increase of 4,9% to 3-month average.

You might be looking at an "Expansion peak" but averages haven't fluctuated enough to say that "more people are logging in", it's all within the winter-summer cycle of gaming (and marginally behind the yearly average).

I know its just anecdotal, but my part of the eve universe feels dead since Phoebe; less people logging in and those that do - go afk for substantial periods to wait out jump fatigue. I know some people really "like" Phoebe, but I get the feeling that even more folk are voting with their wallets and staying away. IMO Phoebe just seemed to add tedium with no addition of fun, so I can understand why People would just stay away.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

It would tend to follow that there would be a lot of cap movement after the update... people will be wanting to put their cap ships in the optimal position in view of the new limitations.

Pretty much going as expected in that aspect.

Personally I'm seeing more sub capital combat, and much more activity in general in low sec.... all of which is a huge win.

I suppose if all you do is cap ship hot drops things might be a bit slow right now... but don't worry. It is inevitable that your targets will now start coming to you.

Easy does it guys. Let the shake up from Phoebe do it's thing before introducing even more information about Sov. Things need to settle before to the next big change.

Why is it whenever I read threads on Sov changes, it's like reading a debate on Texas Holdem rules?
Why is it the participants are so well-versed with the ins and outs they can seem to assemble coherent thoughts?

When the Sov game was first changed, and I read what it involved, it seemed like a "game within a game" - this game akin to Capture the Flag. (If you've never played this in real life, you've missed something, and you should count your childhood as having a vacant spot - as well as the ER trips you missed as a youth.)

As I recall, the original complaint was Sov was boring. If it wasn't boring it wasn't challenging. Basically, there was no incentive to participate, as it had all the drama of attending a church social. Hey! PRESTO! The "all new Sov mechanics!"

Enough time passed for the e-peen wagglers to delve into the extreme details and pull out the ultra-strategies. (Thus the population that can speak of these things in dreary detail.) And, NOW they've got a list of micro-management scale "items" they'd like fixed, which resembles a gift request inventory to Santa Claus.

This discussion has added new meaning to the word "convoluted", but those deeply involved are so convinced of their logical reasoning, genius and correctness it's a point totally lost on them...which gives me an idea....

We have WIS. We have on station card rooms. Sov competitors play Texas Holdem to determine who owns what when. Everybody's e-peen is stroked. Everyone's male ego is satisfied. All the rules can be found on the back of a Red Man Chewing Tobacco pouch. (We can even have handheld weapons, dealing from the bottom and wild shootouts in the backroom.)

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

free 10 days, is why ppl are more loggin in and just 2 days ago plex price spiked with 100 mil (1/8th)

THere is something substatialy going on ofwhich plex price is a symthome, and i bet it is the renter mentality (easy access) to 0.0

Something need to happen soon, or it will take another 3 years to rebalace from the Technetium errors. (which led to this in the first place)

6years of potential grow missed. :wooops: I would sack the team responsible for it, starting with mittens and his dev minions.

Probably because we've been promised over and over again that sov will get a pass then we get something a long the lines of "its too much work for this cycle" from CCP about it and the cycle begins anew. All while other areas, especially highsec, see iteration, rebalacing and useful/meaningful additions *cough* ESS *cough*. All of that time has allowed people to study and figure out nullsec/sov far better than CCP has. In fact CCP has the best resources available to them, in the form of some CSM members, to fix nullsec/sov yet we've seen little to no progress.
