Just like the subject: +1 if you want to have CCP have both the Old/New UI as a toggle feature in settings.

Why would you want them to spend resources maintaining two systems indefinitely? After a short intro period the old system should be removed entirely, assuming it is actually good.

There is a rule in UI deployment, you always have a option to revert. You apparently do not know this - a UI is such a complex bit, and this IS the interface for EVE - this breaks and the game breaks, so you don't mess around with it as a simple one switch change, regardless... and the damage control for a mess is way more resource intensive than support for a toggle feature. I would hate to have you as a Admin, your philosophy is the way of... pain.

Only because I feel that both UIs are fairly bleh (can only judge the new one from what I have seen thus far), and that they are approaching UI changes from the wrong angle to begin with. If anything, this would be the perfect time to open things up to allow for community UI modding.
I find it odd that, at over ten years in, a game that offers as much customization as Eve, is still forcing a specific UI base upon everyone.

I'd rather keep only the old one rather than replace everything with ALL GREY AND DULL buttons. kthx.

I said nothing of just jumping in without a backup, or of failing to properly test a new system before going live with it. Once you introduce the new system and work out the kinks it is pointless to have a development team actively maintain two systems that perform the same task. It doubles your upkeep costs and generates no additional revenue. Plus it adds needless complexity when releasing new features as they must be designed around two systems. At some point you have to abandon the legacy system to capture all the benefits of the new one. Otherwise there is no point in upgrading.

eventually people are going to keep unchecking features to the point where CCP can't make any improvements to preserve the old UI.

Yeah, I don't recall ever doing this in development. Sure, you keep the old code around, but you don't maintain both systems, that's a stupid waste of resources.

CCP has no sense of humour.

-1 Why keep old designs that will add extra things to be kept maintained.

Also, never going to happen. I'll bet every last ISK I have on it!

But there is no new UI, it's just a reskin.

A bad reskin.

There is an option to turn off any new feature in eve that you don't like.

Just press ALT+SHIFT+Q and hit OK.

I dont even like the new icon for skillbooks. Boring. They changed that ages ago.

I think the new UI looks horrible and dry. I love the colour in the one we have now. It will be a really annoying thing to have the UI I have loved for so long being changed for their stupid reason of "Studies show that icons without colour are remembered better".

Please give us the option just to have the old icons at least.

Can we turn off the option to turn off new features?
