EWAR in Eve

We all know that EWAR can be a game changer in EVE, but being an EWAR pilot is very risky. You are almost always going to be one of the initial primary targets and often, once that happens you are blapped instantly.

If you happen to be targeting the FC, the chance of you being the primary increases exponentially.

Anyway, what I was thinking was... When a player gets jammed, damped, disrupted or painted in PvP, it would be nice if the icon informed the target that they were being effected by EWAR, but not by who. If a player wanted to know the individual who was conducting the EWAR, they need to fit a module (maybe a called a DF module or something).

I do this for a living in RL and by far the biggest advantage of jamming, etc is that fact your target doesn't know it is you doing it. This is especially important when operating in a fleet, where you hope to hide in plain sight.

I'm interested in hearing other peoples views on this.

I support this. When I was in Afghanistan, we didn't have signs on our trucks saying "HEY, I HAVE THE ECM THAT IS JAMMING YOUR CELLPHONE SIGNAL FOR YOUR REMOTE IED!!!!"

+1 to not being forced to relinquish tactical intel to the enemy in combat. Let the enemy acquire their own damn intel.

Also, idk if this is a thing because I don't have any experience flying EWAR, but I've read the descriptions for a lot of the EWAR mods and noticed that they are described as being mainly BS mods because smaller ships don't have the electronic stability (or something to that effect) to be unaffected by their own EWAR. I'm pretty sure I read that on the description for ECM bursts and/or target jammers. If the following doesn't happen already, I think that EWAR that is being used (particularly for things like target jammers) by BS size ships should have a chance to effect friendly ships that are smaller than a BS within a certain range.

I have next to no PvP experience, so idk if this is the sort of thing that PvP needs, though. I just kinda pulled this out of my a** as I was reading. It just seems to me that it would be a nice addition to the fog of war. Just something else to have to pay attention to that could potentially cause things to get nasty if it's left unchecked for too long, just like in real combat (only it's in space ships!!! \o/ ). Anyhoo, yeah I'm done.

Granted, it'd be a nice touch, though the point stands that in any fleet you primary the ECM boats first (We once didn't.... PAIN), however the idea raises of having e-war dispersed through your combat ships. For more discrete modules (ECM) where it's a on/off effect, not too likely since without ship-bonuses to ECM it has negligible chances to work, but having sensor dampeners, tracking disruptors, seeded throughout your fleet could be interesting - and more importantly, really screw with the opponents' heads.

You should have enough control over your herd of cats to make them understand. If they constantly make misstakes, get better cats.

Good idea, it's high time that ewar had some love. It's been countered to death over the years so plus 1 from me.

A recovering btter vet,  with a fresh toon and a determination to like everything that CCP does to Eve...

Don't take me too seriously though, I like to tease a bit on the forums, but that's only because I love you...
