I'm up to a Mackinaw right now, and I'm wondering how big of a difference ISK/hour to get into a mining corp. Has anyone done the math on that?

Acutally I've found you generally end up with LEss isk/h in a mining corp, as most of their payment programs and buy-back rates are less than market. However, even so you gain alot more.


like talking to people, doing some mining ops. Diving WH's, POS's, Orca Boosts..... Other things.


It's worse for your wallet, but makes for a much better Eve Experience.

The best mining corps are NPC corps. The biggest ISK killer is war dec if you are a miner. Any Ops based benefit is fleet driven and can be handled with a neutral chat channel. It's also a lot easier to remove an AWOX threat from a chat channel.

If all you want is ISK/hour, you will increase it if you join a corp that offers free boosts. That is, they don't buy your ore or haul your ore for you. The problem, though, is you will have to compress on your own somehow. Corps that offer ore buyback programs and conduct hauler supported mining ops in most cases decrease your money: orca gets a cut, hauler gets a cut, paying for the compression tower comes from somewhere, etc.

There are corps that will increase your money, but most won't unless they are only boosting.

there are corps such as mine that offer free boosts and we buy ore minerals pi salvage

yes orca's and haulers get a cut it's 5% for instance in my corp for the entire op not just you so it's a very small difference also me and my director and several other miners tend to say give my cut to the corpies or to the corp.

we do have a compression tower that is open to the alliance..... we use the buy back program to pay for that so compress all you want enjoy the extra isk you make from using it.

There are corps and alliances such as mine that do everything in there power to make the corpies ISK or add content

for instance i typically haul with my alts when we are war deced so you the corpie doesn't get inconveinenced i do this for the low low cost of Donation or 0.00 isk which ever you can afford...i do charge for the cost of the product but thats it, and yes this turns me in to a freighter biatch but as a ceo/alliance ceo i do alot of station spinning and am more then happy to help.

There are strengths in numbers that move well beyond the synergenic boost to yield:

If you are teaming up with others you have the advantage of working together on personal and corp goals that you make and set together. If you aren't doing this you are missing out of some important player content that could improve player participation.

Also mining together can certainly be more entertaining then slogging it out alone.

Being able to field a nice sized op also serves as intimidation to other non-affiliated miners who might want to mine in the same belts as you.

If you share the responsbility you can have some work hauling others run boosts and security..

if you are mining in a mixed belt you can even divide the responcibility for the different ores, lessening the need to carry every type of crystal and reducing the need to swap crystals as much.

Mining in a corp it's easier to find people to trust for mining ops as well - you can share intell on corps and players in the area with those in your corp that may be in different time zones making the systems safer for you.

I could probably think of other reasons joining a mining corp is a good idea if you are a miner; but I'll bet you can come up with your own reasons if you try.

war decs happen yes as stated and when it happens my guys make more ISK unless there incursion runners
in the entire time i have had this corp there has been 1 Awoxxer and that was brought in by a different person/corp then me ...
thru the use of a intense background check that is given to every possible member of my corp this has been proven a success

if a awoxxer was to get in to the corp then me being the front line of defense has failed and it is therefore my fault and i would reimburse the loss out of my own pocket

i can't think of a reason not to join a good corp or alliance

True, but that's a bit like spending all your time in your apartment because someone outside might try and kill you.....

Sure you'll be safer if you stay inside.... but does that really make it better.
