I actually think the name is really good.
It encompasses the trading empire, building of the new on the greatness of the old, the destruction of growing stable civilisations leading to a different path of development.
If it had survived, (Akrotiri ancient thera) We would live in a world without the roman empire, the development of slavery through conquest , militarisation of governments, the concept of conquering the known world, and instead have a completely different path set for humanity.

So Thera exists as a concept now?

Also, Thera.
Thera is named after something cool, a real place called Thera. Letting players name it would likely end up with some really stupid name, like Bob or PinkPleasureSock.

Nope because in my opinion Thera isnt a wh system. You access it through wh's from kspace with the possibility of a wondering hole that may lead to WH space or not. I just hope this isnt a test to allow the construction of stations in wh's

It clearly is, that is really obvious now with the tethering becoming the go to option in POS overhaul.
