I gona throw this out there and see just how everyone thinks.

We have seen a fair loss of activity in whs recently, i think we can all agree on that (maybe).

So with the new changes that have come in in Pheobe by all accounts there has been a flurry of interest and activity in whs once again.

My proposal is that we try our very hardest to not gank the living **** out of every day tripper/new player coming into whs (especially the new players) so that this interest remains. Think of it as a fishing quota so as to not diminish numbers.

If you really can't control the base urge and just have to kill them, not podding them would maybe not discourage them as much.

I would say if they are in a t3 then they are not really a new player so they are fair game.

Once the interest is lost to the masses then we can go back to killing everything we can get a point on and hopefully some more ppl in wh space.

ps. I kill noobs in whs alot so this will be pretty hard for me. Once I actually killed and podded a 2 hour old player siitting on a HS connection. Both proud and ashamed of this in equal measure.

Then how about you come up with some ideas that aren't **** then? I shall be waiting with baited breath.

As a solo player I kill everything I can, no exceptions. Few enough viable targets as it is.

Al I never knew you were such a bleeding heart do-gooder. First you want to farm C1's now you want to spare the day-trippers...

Though I understand your sentiment, I don't think it would be easy to manage. I think a better idea is to chat the newbros up after you kill them to offer advice and possibly recruit them if they're not complete idiots.

You're young, you'll adjust. I'm old, I'll get used to it.

You know im a ******* hippy 350 :)

I know it would be hard for ppl and its probably unrealistic to ask folks to do it. I do usually talk to newbs iv ganked afterwards, 9 times out of 10 its me telling them to put a ******* cloak on their ship.

When i do gank newbs, if there are in say a scouting fig (T1) of a venture or some other low-end ship i will usually send them the isk to cover the ship/mods aswell since its not much to me and could potentially be alot to them.

Oh and it was C3s i wanted to farm, not C1s :)

No way to identify who is a newbro or a daytripper.

So all must die.

Though if they do convo, hey I have no problem talking your ear off.

Yaay!!!!

It is far easier just to reimburse their loss if you are feeling guilty about blowing up their ship.

Yeah... that 2 hour player sitting in a WH was an alt. I guarantee it.

You can't just say "don't gank" because then you're ruining the whole idea behind WH space. If people wanted to run sites completely safely they could goto incursions or level 4 missions or null or something.

I might suggest that if you're worried about them coming back, maybe use the same system that fishermen use: Catch and release.

Just tackle the poor newbro, hold him down, maybe get a ransom/song out of them, and then let them go. Maybe they'll grow up to be a big fish and reproduce or something.

Let me know how your people enjoy letting ships go without getting their loot or killmails. it's probably not a totally impossible idea. I mean, it's your sandbox, do whatever you want.

But wormholes will remain a dangerous place, as they should be.

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.

I like the fishing analogy, I have personally been playing catch and release with them, There was one who was a bit too good and aggressive, so I dropped a tengu on his lying arse.

apart from that pretty positive reaction and a lot of fun to boot. pretty much everyone in a t1 prober without a cloak has gotta be a noob, (or stupid) I personally do not want that to be a death sentence. Especially if we want them back later and they learn something from the experience.

but each to their own, whatever people think best, worked for me though.Cool

Nope. Never. I have 'standards' Or something.

I will hover reimburse new players as well as offer to teach them what got them killed and how to (hopefully) avoid it in the future.

After hearing pretty much everyone saying this is a bad idea and realizing that i will never be able to live by this myself which would make me a hypocrite, i am retracting this post.

Got a bit of discussion going so i don't see it as a bad post or anything just unrealistic.

A couple years ago I jumped an alt into a WH in high sec in a Magnate with a probe launcher and maybe a T1 cloak, I don't remember exactly. The entrance was camped and I died quickly. This led to the realization that I better wait until my alt can fly a covops before taking him exploring. Sometimes you have to blow up to learn the important lessons. But I do like the sentiment, I'm a bit of a hippy myself.

I'm pretty sure this will not work for one simple reason: the word "gank"
Those elite pilots might be too afraid the noobs could develop wh skills and easily outgame them in the future... Lol

Seriously, sometimes you should consider to not pod people away. You never know if they decide to give you the fight you are allegedly looking for...

Not killing teaches nothing. If you want people in w space then maybe consider killing them and then trying to teach them about the mistakes they made. I learn from my mistakes all the time.
