Oscar nominee Dennis Danfung has released the very first short movie for the oculus rift, its named zero point. I was was pretty excited about it and the experience is great, though its short.
Has anyone watched zero point yet and what do you think of it.

IMHO its a very good tech demo and i´m looking forward to see longer movies made with that new technology.

Link to the trailer and a german article about it and the download on steam

I haven't seen it yet -- but I'm a bit of a tech evangelist, so perhaps I should... :)

I think the idea of a 'VR' film could be a redefining moment for how we experience recorded media. Imagine watching a movie where the viewing experience is shaped by where you're looking at any given moment. You might get an entirely different perspective on the story (or discover an entirely new story), depending on who in the film you choose to follow from scene to scene.

Coupled with a game controller, you might -- one day -- even be able to navigate to a different environment during the course of a scene, to experience an entirely new film-within-a-film.

Loved to play eve with that combination! Must be feeling like admiral ackbar on board the home one!

I think that VR in general is a huge thing to come and it will definitely work for some movies. On that site is an article about a horror movie which must be a scary experience on the oculus rift.

Movie makers will have to think in a whole different way about there work, its not just camera work but the sets will have to be different etc.

Still would prefer to have the guided view from normal movies, don't like 3d either though.

Like they said on that german site, i think the price tag for such a shot movie is quite hefty, although is very interesting

Another try on the 3D googles. I have seen it from early 90's.

Oh god, don't remind me of those.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.
