Isn't the idea that one would die and then go to hell to suffer torment eternal? Wouldn't dying in hell be a release from that torment? So hey, Thanks for hoping my stay in hell is a short one.

pretty much, yet the descirption of hell as "common knowledge" is somehow twisted by christians.

As far as i know hell originated from "foreign language" word meaning grave, nothing more nothing less.

That the theological definition of hell has changed over time does not make it incorrect or in any way wrong (arguing from a theological standpoint), the change can be attributed to any number of things, the easiest being a better understanding of the revealed truth or whatever.

The fact that it's all based on a book some guy wrote while he was high, on the other hand....
