Sort of like when Proust's madeleine dipped in tea recalled three volumes of memories. Except more oily and sugary.

Big smile That meat loaf with bacon, onion rings, and hamburgers embedded like war correspondents actually looked pretty tasty. Until they put all that Big Mac sauce on it.

That's a common cooking mistake-- being overly indulgent in the use of sauces or spices. One must exercise restraint. So that the subtle flavors of the elemental ingredients of the, say, hamburger-embedded meatloaf, can be coaxed to come to the fore.
