I dont think it will kill Eve as I have heard rumors about CCP countering this game with "EvE: Asteroids" but I cannot confirm if its true or not.

I was told that you can take control of asteroids and make them smash into spaceships and stations or even planets causing extinction level destruction. Strategic strikes on Dust players and to take out PI command centers controlled by capsuleers will also be available in EvE: Asteroids.

Eve: comets is also a possibly planned DLC for EvE: Asteroids

Ccp will kill eve , I'm not saying they are but I doubt much external could do it.

Join together with your mates to form a roid corp and launch it into a gravitational path-- hopefully an intersecting path of destruction! Queue some tunes, log on, sightsee on your long tour through the cluster, chat with your fellow roids, watch in suspense for 5 days to see somebody plows through that station-- ah!

Oh I forgot to mention the best part about Eve: Asteroids.

No longer will asteroids be at the mercy of miners. Asteroids will now have the ability to fight the miner scourge. Miners will finally have to be weary of player controlled asteroids that are out for revenge.

You will have the ability to jam their strip miners, explode into million pieces causing an area of effect blast or even form a deadly gas cloud that rivals the old school Titan AOE doomsday causing the total obliteration of everything on grid.

Player Owned Asteroid (POA). Pronounced "Poh-Uh" by Murikens, "Poh-Ah" by everybody else. This is it right here, the first and last time the EVE jargon acronym will be ever explained. From here on out, newbies and non-'leet/cool people will just have to wonder what a POA is. Or else, publicly humiliate themselves and ask.
