Presently the GD home page (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=258) is showing 52 validation errors, many of which are *cough* amateurish.

The vast majority of those are "&" instead of "<" or "&", several others just depend on the type of validation you are using ('m guessing you are using strict) whereas the doctype of these rendered pages is just "html". I'm not sure that this is a really big deal.

I realize that "Dev Blogs" might not officially be part of the "forum" section of your domain, but I find it extremely annoying and frustrating to locate them now. In the old forums, there was simply a button I clicked to go from the forums to the Dev Blogs, and I really want that functionality back.

For what it's worth I'm using google chrome and the "report" flag icon is totally in the wrong place, it's like in the post along with the text. Same with the "Edited by" text.

There's no way for me to click the name of someone who likes a post of mine or replies to a subscribed thread.

That's kind of dumb.

We had another report of that, and that user had an out of date browser, could you please provide us with the browser version you're using?

Let's face it, the forums before were far from a shinning example of web work. But I would agree with you on the point you raised.

I also have issue with the edit line and report flag on my mobile. But seeing as how the black bar across the top is a constant for some unknown reason, it's the least of my concerns. Not only does it take much needed screen space from me, it also has an extremely poorly laid out flag and mail system. Which ends up half way off the screen.

I am though, not surprised.

It's the stuff that actually affects display rendering I was referring to that's a problem, the things that cause a browser to run in "quirks mode" such as using obsolete formatting declarations within table cells (ALIGN), or placing elements within containers where they are not valid. When a browser is running in quirks mode due to poor markup, you get the kind of inconsistencies between different browser vendors we're seeing here.

Not testing your code using strict standards is also lazy, or demonstrates a lack of experience, or both if your final product is intended to be viewed via more than one vendor's browser.
