To all of you I killed, this weekend, sorry, not sorry.
I can't wait for this game to launch, so I can kill even more of you, and hopefully a few of you will kill me, as well.

Does anyone who experienced Valkyrie want to fanboy about how awesome it was? Brag about an especially awesome kill?
Let's hear your comments.

Getting my first gun-kill on a longtime in-game enemy (The Springer, of Basgerin Pirate) just felt incredible. Couldn't have asked for a better first experience with the game.

Just saying..... if CCP wants to let me buy-in to help beta test the game, I can make some money disappear out of my bank account. :p

Also, I wish I'd been a BSG fan so I could fully appreciate the idea of being shouted at by Starbuck, herself (erm.... that is, Ran, I guess?).

Jokingly, I think we're missing the boat here by not somehow incorporating Aces High by Iron Maiden.... :p

Have you tried the tech 2 version? They are even better.

Seriously, though.... T2 fighters.
Also, I want to fly one of my Geckos in Valkyrie.

Actually strapping it to your head and playing the game, though?
The hype doesn't do it justice. It's better than any article says it is.

I did have a DK1, and had some fun playing with some of the demos. I got extremely sick from using it though. I ended up selling it to a friend 3 days before they made the announcement that they were running out of parts and that they had spiked to insane sell prices on eBay. Been very tempted to get a DK2 for upcoming stuff, but want to hold out for the consumer version, which I hear addresses much of the simulation sickness issues.

I didn't really experience the "simulation sickness" to any real extent.

If this was your first time trying an Oculus Rift then that may explain it (or maybe you're just not as susceptible to it). I hear they've ironed out most of the bugs. I was full fetal position for 30 minutes after Half-Life 2 with DK1.

Wait.. is this a .... Valkyrie will kill SC thread!?!?!!?

although since both are in alpha.. it would be like 2 fetuses slugging it out in the womb...

no but smeariously, A little Valk/Legion/EVE full integration just might bring back all those subs that CCP seems to want so badly.. not to mention take a nice bite out of the SC crowd..

Im just talking nonsense. ON TO GATES TO THE PANDAVERSE!!!!!

1. Valkyrie will brutally murder SC, if SC ever becomes a game (which it won't... but even if it does, Valkyrie will jack it up, oldschool).

2. There doesn't seem to be a way to integrate EVE and Valkyrie, but there should be plenty of room to tie it in with DUST/Legion (although, to be fair, if there were a way to link EVE and Valkyrie, I'd be all ears).

3. side-note: I'm hoping for both lots and lots of online play, and cooperative stuff... but I do want to see some episodic standalone single player stuff, too. I just have all these ideas running through my brain. So many ways to make this sustainable and dynamic. But I don't want to speak them, here.

Lastly, with the lore surrounding Valkyrie, I never have to feel sad for one of my fighter pilots, again.
Now I know that when they die, Ran snatches their consciousness out of the aether, stuffs them into a clone, and says "join me or I send you back to the void"....

Other than being in the same universe how is exactly is Valkyrie going to be linked to EVE Online, if it is at all?

CCP mentioned the idea of being able to login to all 3 games (EVE/Dust/Valkyrie) from your one account so that you can play your eve characters in dust/valkryie.

I would assume once they get the main game sorted they will slowly link it into eve somehow.

I played it at Pax Seattle in Aug. It was amazing. The controls need a bit of work but the atmosphere was extremely immersive.

I am working on a game that demo'd on the rift and we find that only 10-15% of people have actual motion sickness in the headset. You should be able to calibrate the headsets to the person to fix most of that but some people will still have issues.

I found the game to be intuitive and instinctual, UI-wise.

Simulation-Sickness is a thing and happens to most people their first several times. It's nearly unavoidable. Entering "the rift" is a system shock, and it's incredibly rare to find people who don't freak out.

I like that! "Entering the Rift". Smart. I'm glad to hear some fresh feedback on it.

First time using the oculus I played for about 15 minutes and the sickness hit me like a tonne of bricks to the point I had to close my eyes and tell my mates to take the headset off for me.

I was hesitant to try it again but was back on it after my mates had a turn and then played most of the night after they left with no issues. Not sure why I got sick on the first go but seem to adjust fairly quickly after a bit of a break from it.

Also it was amazing. Have not felt immersed in games like that since I was a pup.
