Hey all,

I've been exploring the depths of null-sec space in a Helios with the following fit:

Low:
3x Expanded Cargohold II

Mid:
1MN MWD I
Scan Rangefinding Array I
Data Analyzer I
Cargo Scanner II
Relic Analyzer I

High: Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher - Sisters Core Scanner Probes
Covert Ops Cloak

Rigs:
Small Memetic Algorithm Bank I
Small Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I

So far, it seems like a really good ship and with the cargo expanders I've explored for over 90 minutes before I've reached a full cargo of loot (I tend to ignore some of the loot that has bigger volumes). I also really like how cheap the frigate is.

However, I've want to get an idea of some better fits, and perhaps some other exploration ships that might be able to scan down sites quicker and complete sites easier.

All of my scanning skills are IV or V, and I live in null so I don't typically have to dodge gate bubbles.

I'm assuming you want to stay on helios in friendly null, so:
If you train cover ops to V you will reach max scan bonus from all hull (50% is max),
Train hacking and arechology to V for T2 modules,
If you can afford it, buy scanning implants, hardwires, slots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10,
If you rich scanning implants 1-5 slots.
Optional: change hacking rigs for scanning rigs, i'm personally using tengu with agility rigs, you may want to change them after train T2 hacking modules.
Skills to V if you want it, not necessary with hardwires, long ques.

Your fit is pretty solid, though personally I would ditch the cargo expanders, or at least one of them. Having a single warp core stabilizer will save your behind when baddies try to ruin your day.

You also by no means need all skills to V. Sure having archeology/hacking to V will help a lot, but most astrometrics skills at IV will be more than enough for what you're doing, especially if you're flying T2 with Sisters gear and scan arrays.

I'd say training navigation skills will help way more than scan skills once you have a good level. They will let you get around safer, faster, and more frequently. They will also help you transition into other ship types more easily later... especially stealth bombers.

Also you can drop the expanded probe launcher unless you are actively scouting for combat fleet. It is unneeded in terms of expense and required extra fitting over a standard sisters core. After that there is some merit to the idea of fitting a scram in place of one or the other of the data/relic mod and making sure to have a combat drone to kill off competition that might have gotten to your site. This will become even more important with the higher value exploration sites on the horizon.
