If a rorqual can compress solid ores, why can it not compress gasses in to more manageable sizes, like we can already today?

Perhaps the gasses are already compressed by default, thus requiring no special equipment?

Or maybe its because the rorqual is physically compressing the ore and ice through pressure, and gas when exposed to that kind of pressure will initially compress then just expand again when the compression is over since its not being pressed into a holding tank of any sort and is instead being exposed to something similar to a scrap yard metal compressor that they always kill people with in the movies for some reason.
