Why would ANYONE feel secure competing against the owner/coder of the site you're gambling on? That's just stupid.

You have to be quite stupid to risk your business only to gamble... The system gives you already enough profit, why would anyone do it?

If you wanted to spend your time gambling, you should've done it elsewhere... It's not like the experience is any different, as you just copied the site Roll

I'm not that bad at math... Of course I don't gamble for profit. It's my way to decide which ship to train for next.

Not that it is important why you gamble. Weather you thought you could make some bucks with it or you just did it for kicks 'n giggles - Your gambling put you out of business - A nice twist giving the nature of the site, don't you agree?

I work at a Casino IRL (life, what is that?) . We can't go out and play any of our own table games or linked slots (and of course out of uniform etc.) because of things like this. It just plain looks bad and like you're tampering with the odds (or getting the dealer to give you some extra advantage etc.) perhaps you at synergy should have taken a note from real gambling houses.

The fun continues!

Our friend gintaru convo-ed me yesterday, asking that the details of my lil Hardy Boys adventure (His IP address, to be specific) not be released. He offered to come clean about the code theft and replace the layouts and code ripped from our site if I stayed mum. I'm not sure if he understands that every site he vists ever records his IP, but hey - he felt he had more to lose from that information being shared than the number of alts "winning" Nyx's on his site.

He even went so far as to offer to let me visually approve the new site before it went live again, to ensure there were no remaining copied bits.

Since the alt bidding is now a matter of public knowledge, I was happy enough to let the site stand on it's own "merits" with the code theft taken care of :)

Oh...but the site is live again today.

Can anyone else still spot the resemblances? :D

That settles the thread for me.

The owner of the site, who is also the top two winners on the site, who also won the Nyx on the site, who stole code, who used alts to have conversations with each other endorsing his service....

QFT - let me make it clear for anyone who still isn't convinced. On 'Synergies' where the house always wins the house is still playing to make a bigger profit - making them the biggest winner in the game.

Whether the ISK for Synergies is actually being deposited by these alts I highly doubt - its a pity Blink doesn't have some actual competition as it could really do some good!

If you *really* want to get evil..you download the site's javascript and:

Recompile it

I've had issues with other things before.. Recompiling both sets of javascript and then diffing the results can show interesting results that even laymen can interpret.

PS: The synergy site is missing CCP's boilerplate. Not cool considering they are using CCP's intellectual property. And it is yahoos like that that make ccp want to charge us $99 to develop for them. As of writing this post. I'd get that fixed asap.

Rofl, I play on both sites and have one billions worth of isk from both, synergy is not a scam, SOMERBlink needs to get over themselves IMO. There is nothing wrong with someone taking a great idea and making it their own. Yes at first it was almost the same site but that has been fixed, they are different now, same basic idea but different. If everyone shut down others be cause they expanded an idea and made it their own this world would be a dark, one lane road.
