Player Features and Ideas Discussion

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but is CCP considering improving the fleet finding system? I personally would like to have it more sortable (or perhaps searchable.) I see lots of fleets in the finder, but I get sad when looking for a PVP fleet only to find miners. As it is, I have to subscribe to lots of fleet channels, that folks post links to fleets to. I'm not sure how you'd pre-make categories though. They could be anywhere from PVP, Mining, PVE, chat, standing, training, black ops, logistics, etc. Perhaps searchable, but to be effective FCs would have to tag them consistently.

As it is, we have corp, alliance, standing, plus a range. Of which, standing is the aggregate personal+corp+alliance. Which, for me currently, is a manageable list for all but standing. And when I toggle min-standing, I get no results unless set to any. Even though 80% of those fleets are good or excellent standing (so I don't understand what that field does really.) And it can be painful scrolling through all of them, having to hover over each one to see fleet age to even know if the fleet is viable anymore or too far to catch up to.

While I'm on the subject of fleets, I saw some other interesting ideas mentioned in my brief research if this had been commented on. So the below are not my ideas, but figured I'd tie them in as they sounded interesting and related to fleet adverts.
1) API link fleet adverts. Currently fleets adverts are not linked to a DB or the API, but if they were, folks could make interfaces to them outside of the game client such that folks could get alerts when a fleet goes up that they were interested in (such as an all hands fleet.) Granted, I'd imagine this would be very useful for all those spies out there too.
2) More control no who can join a fleet from FC point of view. So control over which standings to use when creating a fleet . Such as, maybe the FC only wants personally good/excellent standing folks to be able to see/join their fleet (and not use corp/alliance good/excellent standings.)

Anyway, I have no real intention to follow up on the subject, just food for thought.
