Which scanning ship for everyday probing down the chains?

My initial thought was to use nullified/stabed T3s for the for the job. Though the extra warping speed on cov ops would seem to be an advantage.

I use a cheetah for general scanning and a nullified/cloaky loki for when the situation requires it.

I had a bling-ass 100mn afterburner loki that I scanned with back in the day. 100mn to **** with mass and to gtfo if I was tackling something I couldn't hold.

Lot's of dudes scan with covops because it's higher bonused, also you can fit the midslot scan bonus thingies. Nulli cloaky stabbed T3 is fine choice though. If you run virtues you might not want to be in something with 2k ehp.

Helios is my choice because of the 2/5/3 slot layout. This allows the max amount of scanning mids and prop upgrades. Second best is the buzzard with 3/5/2.

The other 2 scanning covops have less mids, meaning less scan upgrade mods.

I've always preferred a covops frig because they are the fastest moving, strongest scanning option for the job.

Tech3's cannot check the other side of frig holes, so that's too bad. Also, sometimes you don't realize that the other side of a wormhole is camped until the sabre decloaks and what have you. Nullified tech 3's are very slippery, but I find that a covops is best in case you have one too many and make a mistake at least the covops is less expensive (I think my fit is under 100m isk).

tl;dr - Use a helios.

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.

We just use T2 scan frigs. A couple of guys tried the SOE cruisers but they are just to slow to warp and they ended up getting popped. Stick to cheap and quick you cant go wrong.

I am NOT crazy they made me take my medication this morning!

I agree with MooMoo. Helios is king for scanning because of slot layout and cpu/pg distribution. I fly this helios:

Hero tackle Helios with dual scram. Or scanny/cloaky ham tengu if something heavier is needed.

And sure. Why not jump them if you fit through. Might be something on the other side not paying attention that you can kill with ceptors or afs (or combat ventures for lolz)

I'm right behind you

Astero suits me well. Fits through frig holes, fast off the hole, fast into warp and a reasonable engagement envelope. The biggest downside is that my fit does not have an expanded probe launcher.

I used them recently to go into null doing some relics, lurking around and having good times with renters in local chat.

Make sure not to plate, so that you can still jump and scan C1's

I open the hangar and click on the first scanning ship catches my eye, Results obviously vary and often end up with me constantly double checking to see what i am actually in before i act. (would not advise this approach)

If you don't care about frig holes, use a scanning T3.

I personally use this:
