Rip w-space? We the people of w-space use cloaky ships(not stealth bombers) in unison way to much for this to be anything but terrible. CCP is either blatantly or ignorantly ingoring the players in w-space. We use cloaking ships in fleets on a DAILY BASIS, its part of LIVING IN WH-SPACE. WE DONT HAVE LOCAL FOR A REASON!. You have to understand this is just to treat symptoms of a null sec cancer. Your talking about trying to fix one thing while creating a **** TON of new problems for a group not even remotely associated with the problems that plague null-sec!

I'm not seeing a problem... You just have to be more careful... Unless you want it to be easy mode, then I can understand the complaining, but it's still dumb.

If thuggin' was a category I'd win a Grammy

Cloak used to function this way. It will again. It's not the worst thing to happen to us. It isn't insurmountable. Does it suck that this change that was meant to address isbox bombers in 00 will completely miss its mark and hit everyone else who uses a cloak? Yes it will. But it's not the end of the world. Just mind your ranges on warpins to the cloaked fleet.

That said, it would be really nice if CCP could have done something to address the issues of isboxed bombers and wipimg bs/bc fleets without damaging basic cloaky gameplay.

Just trying to understand here : what change this will make exactly to WH life? Does that mean that fleet warp while in cloak will no longer be possible? You'll get decloak in warp or right after landing? Or is it something else?

a claoked ship withen 2000 meters of anotehr cloaked ship will de-cloak it. One of the issues i see if we are gunna be hearing alot of "sorry bro didnt mean to decloak you, i didnt SEE you there".

Ships cloake WILL decloak each other in the warp tunnel (again). I think that sucks. But we've dealt with it before. Greater care will need to be given to fleet warping cloaky squads.

We lived with it before so we can live with it again but personally I see it as a step backwards not forward.

No argument there, on any part of your statement.

Ya know there was a time that our own scan probes could decloak us. How did anyone ever survive...

I think this is a quality change. It especially helps guys running sites by hindering would be attack fleets.

I don't recall having a group of cloaky ships together much in w-space. About the only time this would have affected me was blopsing in null, but maybe I was doing w-space wrong.

And that is the reason why you fit a gun on your scanfrig. Nothing funnier than 2 covertops decloaking each other and you blow him up in an epic fight that takes ages Twisted

Will make setting up blackops much harder again, but overall very little effect on wormholespace. Had it for years, never was a problem.

Its already on easy mode, and getting easier by the patch. I don't think we can stop that runaway train wreck.

I can confirm this is currently on the test server with no official mention from CCP.

Tested:

Cloaked Anathema, Cloaked hound.

Hound warped to the anathema and was NOT decloaked as the hound landed at around 2700m.

The anathema decloaked and re-cloaked to confirm the distance.

The hound then approached the anathema and was decloaked once within range.

Tldr: Cloaked ships now decloak each other when in range.

this is a very GOOD change back to how it used to work.
nothing more satisfying than decloaking a target in your cloaked ship and killing them. nothing.

I have to say i really like this change, it increases the level of danger that should have always been there and anything that would scare people out of just going afk watching a WH or whatever is a great addition.

What i don't like is it has just been snuck in with no dev blog before it was put on SISI. No dev blog to look at what area of space or area of concern CCP are introducing it to address.
