This is an idea more than a feature, but....

Instead of changing "long distance jumping" why not enforce the EULA on player groups like PL who are undoubtedly using account sharring to bring characters in capitals to the field who shouldnt be thrre? There are a lot of people who can testify to the fact that this is going on, including a (former) csm9 member. CCP has plenty of information in the logs from these characters logging in to show significant evidence as well.

So why do we need a mechanics change to hinfer those of us playing by the rules because CCP is letting a group of players get away with account sharing?

"In response to the logs with Grath Telkin: Most of the drama is revolving around a titan account that is being shared and..." (From major jsilva's response on themittani.com article about his CSM9 resignation)

You understand the changes aren't just about large fleets of supers blasting everything in new Eden right?

As for enforcing the EULA on this matter acc sharing is generally one of the lesser ones as it should be. it's there to prevent people from cheating ccp out of money by just sharing an acc with your friend. or do you want CCP hunting every one down who went over and helped his buddy with PI and if you think that's to far where do you draw the line?

I draw the lineat people using accts of players who aren't in the game for months in order to bring more caps to fights where they can be multiboxed to change the outcome

well if you think this is being done and have evidence of such send a ticket into CCP they'll deal with it as they think is best.

I do mean of course on a case by case basis not an over arching thing

Maybe, though getting other people information on a public forum will help. See what happened to erotica1 if you don't believe me

Thanks for the suggestion to put in a ticket btw, but im pretty sure that wont work and may even be considered a frivolous pettition.

Furthermore we have seen a case in which ccp told a player they would be banned if they acct shared with a friend for the purpose of keeping a skill que up to date during the acct owners hospitalization. But we allow players to bring supers and titans to fights like b-r via acct sharing?

Some consistancy would be nice.

My preferred method of force projection is through my hand when executing a Force Choke. Twisted

Kidding aside, the solution to this issue is to gather sufficient evidence of EULA violations and report them. The impending travel changes aren't just about capital power projection, they're also about logistics, industry, and travel in general. I'm not sold on them yet, but the issue you raise isn't issue enough to change them IMHO.

Since we're posting ideas that are cool in theory but utterly unenforceable in real life, I have a few others to pile on the list:

  • Everyone must wear fedoras at all times whilst in high-sec.
  • Using IRC, jabber, teamspeak, carrier pigeon or any other form of communication other than in-game functions should be banned for cheating.
  • Players must take a sip when jumping through a gate, or take a shot when using a regional gate.

That last one may well happen already, but it's important it is enforced.

It sounds like your suggestion is to press for harsh punishment onto account sharing or place in security features to an account that prevents logging in from an alternative IP? Or was this just a rant and a complaint that this is happening in the game?
