Wormhole Anomaly Timer?

Did some wormhole anomaly runs with a friend. Takes us around 15mins to complete one with a normal difficulty. Tackled a harder site shortly after, in order to survive and cheese it we had to both warp out, rep up, and warp in to re-engage. After 10mins this time the site disappeared on our third or fourth warpout.

Is there a timer on the anomalies and how does it work? Doesn't seem to be based on activation time since it took us longer to completely finish the previous.

After you've entered an exploration site and interacted with it in some way (shooting a sleeper or hacking a can for example) the site will de-spawn when you leave, even if you didn't complete the entire site. I'm not sure what the timer is on it exactly but it sounds like 10 mins before the reset based on what you've said. If you want to ensure the site stays up you could try keeping an alt in a Zephyr there since the sleepers won't target it.

It is based on activation and the site wont disappear until all players leave the area. Though I believe there's a top end limit where it will be forced to disappear even with a player in it (to prevent cloaky players from halting the site spawn / despawn system)

Actually, I don't know of any hard timer for site despawn. I live in a C2 and run sites all the time, and what I have found is more to do with triggers.

If you leave the site after the last wave is triggered, it despawns.

Cost me a lot of missed battleships and forum time to learn that.
