If you want caps in high sec NPC corps need to be closed first. So yeah good idea

that's cute, you think wardeccing some one with a cap won't result in them folding their corp before the 24hrs has passed to make them a legal target.

Capitals are already allowed in highsec. They are called (Jump)freighters

CCP would not allow Capitals to use their weapons or launch drones in High sec (lets call it empire ban on capital weaponry). Travel? Maybe. That would make High sec travel in capital fairly risky, as you would be completely defenceless if you dont bring subcaps to defend them there.

I noticed someone voicing the worry that l4's can be turned into even more of a snooze then they are now... most of them have gate restrictions anyway, if capitals are ever let loose in high, just add gates to the rest of them. Problem solved.

Actually, OP is right imho. Caps in highsec is probably going to happen. Think about why caps were kicked out of highsec in the first place: CCP introduced Jumping and in an effort to mitigate power projection, made highsec off-limits to them. I mean, yes there were other considerations, but I think that was the primary one. I've tried tanking CONCORD with a well fit Phoenix... yes it takes longer than a normal ship, but it doesn't make a huge difference. More and more CONCORD shows up. It's expensive. Post jump changes, I really don't see any reason to maintain the cap ban. I would bet that not long after the jump changes are made, CCP allows caps in highsec again. In fact, I would bet CCP is already thinking in that direction. Thus, this is an absolutely valid topic for conversation.

Just my 2 ISK

Concords damage ramps up insanely, thanks to people like COW spider tanking them while ganking high-sec. Ages ago i remember there being a comment that after ~4 seconds of sustained fire, concord can 1-shot a titan.

OP: Yes capitals will come into high sec. Thanks to people who make a living off smashing noobs to peices with 8 year old characters in fully pimped out ships, it's fairly obvious that "bringing in the big guns" is probably the only real way to stop this.

As it stands, high-sec mechanics combined with the limitations of Sub-capital ships make it possible for people to use a small number of specialised ships while sitting on stations/gates to harass people with no way of stopping them (out of corp rep alts for example). Once you bring Triage Carriers and Dreadnauts onto the field, T3/BS EHP starts to become less of an issue. If those same people escalate to a capital engagement, they stand to lose a LOT.

They'd likely not be any better than a proper top tier mission ship if the whole thing is considered.

A bit like the old days uber passive rattlers. All but immortal and hellishly inefficient.

Plus the thing you're all forgetting is caps have a decent training time - what better way to keep a "never leaves high sec" resident to keep playing and "levelling up their raven" than allowing capitals in there? Player retention ftw Lol

why would you bring anything to defend them in high sec, the magical space police are infinitely better at that than an "escort".

And how long till we get specialised gank groups that can down a capital before Conkordokken?

I would expect that it would be more likely that annoyance bump-squads and a new "permit" system would happen before that.

Crime, it is not a "career", it is a lifestyle.

you mean people in tornados?

you mean using the same tactic that already makes escorts useless?

about 30 seconds after the patch allowing caps in high sec.

an escort isn't going to help you, regardless of how much ehp you have, when you simply get taken off the field in 1 volley.

You're a damn kettle.

Might as well be. How many have been blown up in hisec, 3 in 7 years? LOL Unless you are in a big alliance and can rally 100+ members to bash a properly fitted large POS you are out of luck. The sheer amount of damage required to kill one cannot be done by smaller corps. If you could bring out 3-4 dreads to help in the process it would make it an achievable goal for just about every corp.

Hisec capital fleet fights would be glorious. (readies ninja loot/salvage ship)

There are rumors that Golden Bars of Soap are found in the strontium bays of properly fitted large towers. Even purely faction defense fit, faction towers will not stop us in our search for cleanliness.

You know not of what you speak. You should stop while you still only look silly. This is not meant to be mean, but is legitimate advice.
