What happens if i DC in a mission?

My PC blue screens quite a bit and in my marauder with bastion enabled I will just stay there till I log back in, normally takes about 5 mins to get back in, longer than that I am not sure what happens. The bastion and all tanking mods stay active. Because of my terrible pc I make sure I am cap stable with sufficient tank and have never come back to an almost dead ship. All the marauders can have enough dps/tank to be cap stable easily. I have t2 large cap rigs and always at least 3 damage mods. It isn't optimal but the loss of missile rigs, turret rigs is hardly noticeable.
I guess if you don't have a decent tank the npc will wear you down eventually. But for shield maruaders a large sb works fine and is easy to make cap stable. Of all the marauders the paladin is the most difficult to get the right balance, but I do go for omni tanks as I am lazy.
Without bastion.. you just warp off, dependant of course on obstructions and not sure about scramming frigs as I always kill them first.

... What next ??

I DC while in bastion mode, with my kronos, in Assault L4 mission.
For my luck, I was quite at the end of a Megathron spawn, just three left.
My repper was off at time of DC, and I was 10% in structure.

But, it wasn't DC, it was FREEZE for 36 seconds.

A DC in a burner mission, with a Wolf, on log back, was in 10% left structure. Was 10% in armor when DC strucked.
I lost the Wolf. Petitioned. And I was reinbursed. Burners scrambles. No warp out.

Bacvk to the Kronos. DC didn't occour. The FREEZE ended after 36 sec. and I was in 10% left Armor.
I was able to rep back and finish the mission. If there were just one Megathron more.... I don't wanna think about it...

I can't afford to lose my Kronos. As I can't afford to lose ANY of my ships after all, they are my ships, and I luv them.

What You can do, is avoid havin any other program open connected to the Internet when you are playing.
Or have automatic updates turned on. It is proved that this can cause a FREEZE and\or DC, and this is your system, not Internet.
Then there is Internet congestion. If your GUI FREEZE at any time, clicking an object in space, or warping, something is wrong.

Kill all scramblers first, it always help in worst case scenarios..

A Clean OS installation is the best medicine for a bad PC. Oh, and disable Internet explorer!

When the client disconnects from the server :

No Combat = ship will E-Warp to a random location 1 mill km's away and stay there for 1 minute, then disappear.

NPC combat = ship will E-Warp to a random location 1 mill km's away and stay there for 5 minutes, then disappear.

PvP combat = ship will E-Warp to a random location 1 mill km's away and stay there for 15 minutes, then disappear.

No E-Warp if ship is Warp Scrammed by Player or NPC. If ship is destroyed, Pod will E-Warp to random location 1 mill km's away and stay there for timer duration (5 min NPC, 15 min PvP), then disappear.

Any aggression against the disconnected ship extends the timer duration indefinitely until ship is destroyed or remains in space untouched for full timer duration.

All high slot modules turn off when client disconnects, all mid and low slot modules stay active for timer duration until ship disappears.

In Bastion Mode, ship will E-Warp after Bastion Module completes it's cycle.

Now if that's not correct then please post correction so that everyone, especially me, has the correct info.

Thanks.

DMC

This is correct.

The Coreli Corporation is recruiting.

Not convinced that this is correct. As said when I DC it takes me longer than a bastion cycle to come back and when I do the the bastion is still active. Only reason I survive is a decent tank and am cap stable. I will update my test server and test it on the weekend.

Bastion stay on (assuming auto repeat), as does your tank - cap stable marauders FTW.

I can't say what happens if bastion is NOT on auto repeat. Gut says you've missed your ewarp chance and you'll probably die in a fire.

If you can't afford to lose it, you shouldn't be flying it.

I did a 'Safe Log' last night out in space and my ship didn't go into warp. It just stayed in the same location with a 1 minute countdown timer happening. I was able to run D-scan, switch chat tabs, etc. After the timer was done the client disconnected so I guess my ship then warped 100 mill km away and disappeared.

Granted it's not a disconnect but it did exactly what I had first originally thought the timers did. Stayed in the same location for a specific amount of time and then warp away.

I don't know, maybe CCP programed 'Safe Log' like that to keep people from easily making deep safe spots.

Safe Log is different from what is being discussed. eWarp occurs when you disconnect suddenly. For instance, power outage or break in the connection between your client and the server.

Safe Log is an optional way to log out so that when you do, your ship will not be visible in space by probers.
