Traits you like in an fc?

3 key traits to being a successful FC:

1. Don't eat, drink, breathe or perform any other noisy bodily activities near the microphone.
2. Speak clearly.
3. Don't suck at FCing.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

calmness, patience, and clear, concise orders.

the other stuff is learnable.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

I like it when my FCs are clear, and I sometimes do like repition, as I sometimes fail to hear the FC the first time for some reason or another.
Otherwise, I do prefer an FC who allows some chatter so we can have a lauch in eventlessroams, but yet knows when to call comms and get everyone to shut up.
The biggest thing I like is when the FC appropriately distriburtes loot. If no one dies, then I really don't care if other people manage to scrounge the loot first. But if we kill a particularily shiny kill, I like it when the FC splits the earnings. If someone loses a ship, I think it's best when loot goes to the person who lost their ship to help compensate. When I do lose a ship, and the FC doesn't ensure I get any of the loot everyone else snagged, I tend to not like flying with that FC anymore.
Indesicive FCs are annyoing too, you're leading us, make a decision! Even if it's a suicide attack, let's just go for it.

A good FC must:

understand that ships explode, even in this fleet. It is fun, it is ok. In fact, sometimes it is damned hilarious.

say the word "jump" multiple times in rapid succession, sometimes singing them like a song. This alleviates boredom.
"jump-jump-jump! Jump now! jump-jump!"

*not* have screaming kids and barking dogs and insane roommates yelling 3 inches from the microphone. Get a headset and tell everyone else to shut the hell up. Put the dogs outside, where they can **** off the neighbors or better yet try training them not to bark. Derp.

be willing and have the patience to deal with those who may be new to fleet activities! For EVE to stay alive, we must all do our part. An FC who is a jackass to the inexperienced can really shut people down and get them to leave the game entirely.

Crime, it is not a "career", it is a lifestyle.

Same things I would look for in an NCO or fireteam/squad leader...

...including a good mic. Broken comms sucks donkey-**** in the military, it sucks donkey-**** in Eve. And plenty of sleep, that helps...a lot!

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

The ability to find a fight even if the original target didn't happen. Never keep the fleet waiting an hour or more then "target didn't happen, stand down" - you have a fleet, use it for something even if it's a "reship for drunk roam".

Not to form a fleet then "surprise it's a structure shooting op" - this gets old fast.

Intelligence, not just blindly warping to 0 on a target everytime.

Ability to stay calm and not panic even when things go wrong.

I like my FC's to:

* Yell battlecries as we warp into the dangerzone
* To play Dangerzone on priority speaker as we warp into said dangerzone
* GIve orders to web, scram and hold the enemy FC then find the backup FC and anchor then kill all of them in the first minute of the fight

These are the most important qualities of an FC. It also helps if they know what they're doing.

Best voice experience I ever had ...
... my second and last one.

Text2speech as always, everyone laughs when ...
... suddenly, out of the blue, I write ...

nomnomnom.

I encourage everyone to try this and make sure others have txt2speech enabled.

A strong tolerance to intoxicants.

There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a FC in the depths of a binge, spewing nonsensical commands over comms.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

Not sissy, doesn't talk off topic, doesn't let other people ramble about bullshit I don't care about, tells people to STFU when there's action.

FC also must not be afraid of using VOIP to talk to others and not claim that they feel weird talking to a computer.
