What do you like an fc to be able to bring to a fleet? Knowledge, fun, kills, drunken roams.

Everytime you read this you are required to send 100 million isk directly to me.

helps if the fc speaks in a human tongue beyond paleolithic grunting

sometimes though i feel my standards are just too unrealistically high

primary is ungurrrrrrk [inaudible] shoot this damn [dog barking] [children's screams]

e: "children's screams", benny? this got dark quickly

i swear if i had a dollar for each fleet i've been in that sounded like the fc was attending a satanic ritual i'd be doomed for all eternity

A proper headset. Nothing worse than listening to some echo chamber because his mike is eight feet away from him.

Calm.
Well spoken.
Displays humorous bravado (in small bursts).
Shrugs off failure with a grin.
Delegates authority to a few other well spoken people in the event of his/her demise.
Is willing to go "balls deep / Leeroy Jenkins"... yet is sane enough to recognize that there some situations that are just too suicidal to be fun.

And... most importantly... drinking. I require all my FCs to be somewhere at or beyond the "Ballmer peak!"

Personally, I like FCs that know how to communicate effectively. Aside from a good headset, they should at least have a basic understanding of voice procedure (that may seem a bit pedantic, but there are reasons why pro-words are short and easy to comprehend).

Most important (to me) in an FC is self-confidence: an FC has to be able to make snap decisions, often with only a few seconds' notice, and if they hesitate because people might get mad at them, the fleet will get pulped.

People who keep repeating themselves ...
... because they fc idiots who can't comprehend the first time ...
... are both stupid sides of an equation that should be thrown out.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

i disagree, a certain amount of repetition is absolutely essential

there are comms issues, language and accent barriers to consider

Minus the drinking (this whole "drinking is super cool" is silly imo)
most importantly; knowing wtf he's doing and understanding the (in)capabilities of the ships he commands. May sound obvious, yet most FCs suck. I've only ever had 2 really good FCs in all my years, ones who's orders I'd never question because I knew that if I felt it to be mistaken it would probably be because of a lack of information on my side, rather than just not trusting the guy because he messes up at times.
