Issues with fitting on Talos

Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to this game, i have around 6m SP. As far as my Talos is concerned, I have been having issues. So far, i cannot put all of my modules online, and i was curious if i need implants or something similar, because i didn't think i would.

High:
8 nuetrons

Medium:
2 Stasis webs
T2 Warp scram
10mn T2 Microwarp drive

Lows:
2 T2 energized adaptive nano membranes
1600mm rolled tungsten plate T2
T2 Damage control
Reactive armor hardener

Rigs:
Nothing currently, training to use T2 Trimark armor pumps.

From what ive read, this is a fairly cookie-cutter Talos build, but i cant have everything online without running out of cap and powergrid after putting the fifth gun online. Any suggestions? Am i just a noob? Do I need an implant?

You don't have the skills, Brutix will work much better until then. What exactly are you using it for?

Meta the scram and maybe the mwd. Meta 4 the plate as well. Change guns to ion or electrons. Look into training advance weapon upgrades 4 or 5. It's a necessary skill for neutron blaster fits. You don't need to train armor rigging to use t2 trimarks.

Unless you are ganking I'd take Loyd's suggestion and fly a Brutix or Myrm for pvp if you are he'll bent on using a bc. Honestly you should probably fly frigs and cruisers.

^^ I agree,, mostly. I don't think that Neutrons will fit with all that at all, even with AWU-V. Dropping to Ions, though, trades a small amount of DPS for better fitting, better tracking (which is important) and better cap use. This is true for pretty much all the sizes and types of turrets, so dropping one size to fit usually isn't as bad as it sounds. The same goes for the meta-4 plate over the T2 (Rolled Tungsten).

The Talos is an awesome ship, but you have to think of it as an overgrown Thorax with Battleship sized guns, where the Brutix/Myrmidon are mostly downsized from their BS cousins, Megathron/Dominix. Talos exchanges defense for outrageous offense, so they're easy to loose if you get blobbed or if anything small gets under your guns.

Here's a fit I plan to try out soon:

As a newand lower skilled pilot I would avoid using T2 trimarks. While prices have dipped significantly, they are still about 20m a pop. I would get accustomed to flying (and losing some along the way) taloses before throwing on T2 trimarks.

Talos?

High
8x Neutron Blaster Cannon II or Modal Mega Neutron Particle Accelerator I

Mid
1x Limited 10MN MWD
1x Fleeting Web
1x Faint Epsilon Warp scrambler
1x Large Shield Extender II

Low
1x DC II
3x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
1x Nano Fiber Internal Structure II or a Tracking Enhancer II if you fancy that

Rigs
2x Anti EM Screen I
1x Anti Thermal Screen I

But as the other guys and gals said with low skill points you are better served with a Brutix or Myrm.

I have excellent skills and I can't even fit a full rack of T2 Neutrons and a 1600mm plate on a Talos without a fitting mod. I think the problem isn't your skills, it's your fit. An 800mm plate should fit quite nicely though.

Keep in mind, the Talos, like all of the Attack Battlecruisers, isn't really meant to have a stout tank. A Talos fit with a heavy tank will have less EHP and do less DPS than a Brutix. If you're looking for a tanky bralwer, switch to a Brutix. If you're looking for a mobile-yet-fragile melter of faces that can pump out more gun DPS than any non-faction T1 Battleship, stick with a gank-fit Talos. Pirate
