I'll start:

New Eden, twenty one thousand years in the future; a world of warp drives, wormholes and jumping from one clone body to another but... do they still have sci-fi?

Do grown men feel silly playing professional baseball? You know, running from base to base, trying to tag each other, trying to catch a flying ball with a glove, etc. It looks fun, just a little silly for full-grown adults.

(Who am I to talk though? I sit around in a headphone with other full-grown adults intensely plotting how to shoot pixel spaceships.... Smile)

So, like...if you are riding in a time machine to a place far, far into the future...would it be a bad idea to stick your arm out of the window? Would you get to your destination with a fossil for an arm?

I can't believe I really put a thought into that question, but here it goes:

It would rip your arm off immediately.
According to Einstein I am just supposing your time machine uses a massive, artificial gravity well to stretch time.
For traveling into the future, the gravity would have to have a massive negative amount. The difference between the negative gravity inside and the normal gravity outside would be basically the same as normal gravity inside and a really heavy weight smashing everything on the outside.
And when I say "heavy", I am not talking about lousy Terran standards, I am talking about "heavy" in a cosmic sense, like a supermassive black hole....your arm would be pulverized into subatomic fragments.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Science fiction is relative to the technological status of those writing it - we are always living in the science fiction of ages past. There will always be science fiction as long as technological improvements are possible.

They have comedians for sure so there is comedy as a literature I suppose, maybe even with ant sized aliens invading New Eden.

I'm immune to the Rorschach test by default.

As a matter of fact, the Rohrschach test is a terribly unreliable tool and luckily doesn't see much use in diagnostics anymore:

It's still pretty nice for getting the talk going and finding sensitive topics for the patient, but then again, you could probably do the same thing with tarot cards.

Didn't I tell you not to stick your hand in the time vortex or else bad things would happen?

What would happen with the vehicle for time travel when its traveling, would it stay in place, and everyone would just stare at it for for centuries? What if someone would try to lurk inside or move it to the scrapyard some time later? P

And then, well, crush it like an old banger.

They spin scifi tales of technology so advanced that it appears to be medieval level technology with the addition of magic spells and mystical items, where part of the populace has chosen to reengineer themselves as elves, dwarves, and orcs, and all begin life in forests with gold stuffed boars. Mystically scientifically advanced lands where pandas resurrect kung fu and feudal Japanese society. Lands where the risk adverse citizens are catered to, and therefore some may wish this universe to be more like it.

These are the scifi tales told by New Eden.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?
