I came back after a brief hiatus and discovered that I can't seem to give any likes out. I'm not sure what happened while i was away except that I was unsubscribed for over a week.

There were some similar problems during the recent DDOS attacks. Various forum buttons responding very slowly or not at all. Among them the like button.
The only other times such behaviour can be (luckily very seldom) seen is with forum maintenance during extended downtimes. Those are however predictable and of very short duration.

If you are still encountering the problem I would advice submitting a bug report (asks for log in) under the category Forum/Website (bottom one).
Also, if the above is still true, feel free to let me know in this thread. I that case I will ask around if this is a known problem.

Do either of you use Adblock in conjunction with Fanboy's Social Blocking list? If so, that filter disables the Like button. If you click on the ABP icon in the top right of your browser then "Open Blockable Items" whilst on a forum post, you should see an entry for "##.likebtn". You can right-click on that entry then choose "Disable filter ##.likebtn" to disable that specific filter, refresh the page then you should have the button back.

I don't seem to have the option to look at individual elements (been looking for that for ages, my ABP is apparently different from others) but I just whitelisted the whole site. It doesn't have any other ads anyway.
