Yea, you can buy a character, not something i'd do. You lose the feeling of your toon growing up, and where it's been and done, rep with different factions, etc.

Would hardly be any different than buying / selling toons, i really don't see much difference.

I believe it's just one more way they stifle their game. Not my paycheck though.

other games your character can only play a rather specific role or two. The penalty for making a mistake as a noob would be too high. Imagine that extra point you put into something as a noob is a wasted skill point out of the limited number your character can ever earn. not to mention how often devs make dramatic changes fairly randomly.

In eve, I just switch ships, and most of my skills carryover, plus all the highly specialized skills I have also trained on top. I have JDC 5, and I've never even owned a cap. My alt has a bunch of industry skills that I almost never use. Maybe getting those refunded would be nice, maybe I will eventually want to use them, I don't really know right now, but either way I have them and I still have everything else I've ever trained.

I agree.

A few years ago I wanted to form a Low/Null Sec Exploration Team so I bought and trained all the skills required to operate a Black Ops ship. Some of the basic skills required to pilot a Black Ops ship is Jump Drive Calibration IV (407,294 SP's) and Jump Drive Operation V (1,280,000 SP's). Since those skills were being trained, it was also a good idea to at least train Jump Fuel Conservation IV (362,039 SP's), which I did.

Those 3 skills total 2,049,333 SP's. That doesn't amount to very much when compared to my total amount of skills and points (271 skills trained for a total of 120,082,970 SP's). I'd like to point out that even though I bought a Black Ops ship, I've never flown it nor did a fit up on it. For years now it's just been sitting in the same station where it was originally purchased.

Was that a waste of time and ISK? In my opinion the answer is no. I consider those to be an asset that's available for me to use whenever needed.

Just like the 6 Production skills I have trained for a total of 2,091,799 SP's.

Just like the 26 Resource Processing skills I have trained for a total of 4,490,275 SP's.

Just like the 27 Science skills I have trained for a total of 6,876,089 SP's.

Just like the 10 Leadership skills I have trained for a total of 5,718,589 SP's.

Just like the 4 Neural Enhancement skills I have trained for a total of 1,762,275 SP's.

The list goes on and on.

There's plenty of skills I rarely ever use and could probably benefit having those SP's placed elsewhere. Even if that option was available I still wouldn't do it. Every once in a while the need for those skills arises and whenever that happens, I'm glad I've already got them trained.

How about you define it seeing how you seen worried about it? lol

Your logic is outstanding - you could also think of the lost skill time wasted as a contribution to the CCP fund

if i took the SP i wasted in mining skills and re-applied it i could be sitting in a titan in 3 days roughly.

Doing something like this also makes no sense lore wise, as you learned a specific set of skills to do a specific job flying a mining barge and flying an ishtar are not even relatively close together so skills acquired from said mining barge will probably never carry over to the ishtar save for basic handling skills you would already have

oh and No

Lore wise? nobody tell him that this is a game (and there is no Santa Clause)

Because you choose to play CCP's game.

If you don't want to "suffer", you can always just leave. It's just a game.

That and never sub for more than a month at a time.

Agree 100% - that is what I have done - and now it is isk for plex all the way until it runs out

Whining works actually. I've been refunded SP twice after yelling loud enough. Anchoring V for my POS manager alt, Combat Drone V when it was made redundant if you also had Scout Drone V.

I do hope you had both Combat Drone V and Scout Drone V when that patch rolled around. I'm guessing if you did, you didn't speak up, and now you have 512,000 less extra SP than I do. Lol

Hey guys.

im not the one making the statement so why would i need to.
if your going to make declarative statements ,
back them up,
why would anyone pay any heed to them otherwise.
