I'm considering switching back to Linux because the only game I really play now is EVE, but I don't really want to have to deal with the hassles of bugs, crashing alot, etc. I have an i7 and a GTX 770. Can i continue to play on ultra settings while getting 60fps under Linux?

Depends on situation about FPS. Also there are no "Ultra" settings in EVE so dunno what settings you talk about. For performance get latest version of Wine CSMT.

You won't experience more crashing then on Windows. And performance wise your hardware is way more then sufficient to max everything out and keep it at 60fps. Be prepared to tune things a bit tho, and use the latest wine available with command stream patch (available in playonlinux).

It works well, but in my experience not as well as in windows. There's stuttering at the beginning but after a while the game goes smooth. Also I get some weird graphical glitches sometimes. But nothing serious. The client performs decently even with 200 pilots on the screen. I have experienced no crashing.

32-bit
3GHz dual core
4 GB RAM
GT 630

Ubuntu 14.04 - low or off for as much as possible, sound off - some lag.
Installed using PlayOnLinux

Win7 - all settings max - memory leaks about 60 unique system jumps before I must relog.

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Works perfect!

Current WINE* and wintricks then run the command "winetricks corefonts d3dx9_36 vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010" then no issues for me. (the winetricks is needed due to an issue with the IGN)
