my corp is in the process of leaving NA for an old alliance of ours, but we're worried about losing access to our (renter-space) stations in the interim. does anyone know if you can apply and join an alliance directly, with no time spent in cooldown or out of either alliance? i know you can do this as a pilot but not at the corporate level.

NA does have a few wars on us. we're aware we're bringing them with us, but we're not sure if it'll make a difference in the application process. we did not start any of the wars.

i make spreadsheets for pretty cheap. contact me for more info.

Not sure if it works the same, but a corp left Razor Alliance and the RZR wars were duplicated by the corp leaving. They then withdrew the wars upon finishing the process of leaving the alliance.

wars that are decced on your alliance go with you to the new alliance, and you can't get accepted into a new alliance if you've STARTED a war until that war is over with. i'm more concerned with whether or not there'll be a cooldown between the alliances - like, do i have to leave one alliance to join another? if i don't, is there any period of time where the corp wouldn't be in an alliance (which would leave us unable to undock if we wanted to redock)?

Its been a while since I accepted a new corp into my alliance, so unless I missed a change, you have to wait 24 hours before you join. And i'm not 100% sure you can do an instant switch. I.e. apply for the new one, in 24 hours they accept and boom you go form A to b. I seem to remember you have to drop your alliance and wait 24 hours. i.e. Quit alliance a, go to no alliance, apply to alliance b, be accepted, wait 24 hours, boom you are in.

there is a 24 hour wait from when you accepted till when you actually join, but I can't remember if you need to be out of the alliance you are leaving or not.

Don't your landlords make these rules?

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

nice attempt at a dig, if it had anything to do with what i was asking. go back to forum-warrioring.

i knew about the 24-hour wait-time, but it seems no one is sure. i guess we'll give it a shot and see what happens this weekend.

i'll update the thread with the result.

you cannot be in an alliance when you apply for another one. so, to answer my question, no, you can't move directly alliance-to-alliance. i assume this is related to the cooldown period when joining an alliance.

Yup, you have to leave the alliance you are in - which takes 24 hours - before you can apply to the new alliance, which then takes 24 hours before you are active in that alliance.

You can save 24 of those hours by having the alliance executor of your current alliance kick you from the alliance. That is instantaneous. Big smile Once you have been kicked, then you apply to the new alliance, where you will of course have the 24 hour wait after they accept your application before you are "live" in the alliance.

no, it doesn't take 48. we were able to apply 30 seconds after leaving our prior alliance of our own accord. there was still the 24-hour wait, though.
