CCP: New dreads =! balance

I was wondering if somebody else has the same thoughts and stats about dreads after crucible.

I have tried new eft (post winter) version and played with some dread fittings. I tried some pure dps ships with almost same ehp, cap and fittings (T2/faction). I used all level V skills with no implants and the stats are very ... lol if you talk about ship balance.

All ships are active shield tanks. Revelation is armor tanked cause of the 8 lows.

here are my stats:

Phoenix: 11,506 DPS (4x caldarie navy ballistic control), 2,3 m EHP, cap 2.31 min
Revelation: 11,726 DPS (4x dark blood heat sink), 2.1 m EHP, cap 6.26 min
Naglfar: 11,788 DPS (2x caldarie navy ballistic control, 3x republic gyro), 2.2 m EHP cap 2.20 min
Moros: 16,022 DPS (4x federation navy field stabalizer), 2.16 m EHP, cap 2.33 min

So as we can see, all stats are pretty close without the Moros. Moros dps is way better than any other dread and it has the same range as the naglfar and revelation, Phoenix has slightly more with torps.

So, is this all a mistake and wrong calculations in eft or has CCP made a new fotm (flavor of the month) Dread?

Any comments from CCP?

PS: You can fit all ships with more tank as well. Moros will still own them all.

I love dreads on hippy chicks. Just something about them...

Don't know why a hairstyle would cause imbalance.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

They can add quite a bit of weight, and if you're not used to that, you never know what happens…

It really just confirms that the hippy isn't bathing.

To troll or not to troll.

You doubtless forgot that your moros loadout has an optimal range of 3m and a falloff of 2m. people who suck at eft should not be allowed to make arguments that rely on it.

DPS isn't full story.

- optimal range?
- type of damage dealt
- DPS of tank
- dunno

Would be good to add these values to comparison.

Sidenote: as far as i know not one fleet uses blaster Moros these days. Because 30km if too low for anything possible on field. So standard CTA fits come with rails (50% of pure DPS less than with blasters).

You should read before you post, mate!

But, if you had a bad day, I'm happy beeing you punching ball :)

Moros range = 21 + 19
Naglfar range = 17 + 24
Revelation = 26 + 13

Have a nice day ;)

Normally such a thing would be a turn off for me, but not when it comes to that hippy girl with dreads.

Don't bother saying it, I'm a sick pervert, I know.

Three words: Oxy Topes Pricing.

Goons providing balance in '11. What will they do in '12?

People need to stop using EFT to gauge ship balance.

Fly the ships.

That being said, buff dread tracking and citadel explosion velocity.

Won't make a lick of difference as long as supers are still more numerous than STD's at a frat party and blocs are allowed to form without restrictions.

Maybe, sometime next year if sovereignty is fixed to make super-blobbing disadvantageous and the log-off changes has the intended effect of killing off a chunk of them and production of supers is made less of an assembly line endeavour.

Since CCP has yet to make any statements as to what they intend to do sov wise, I'd say it is safe to say that Dreads will still be the fat gimp kid that is always chosen last when fleets are called for at least another year (probably two or three).

That 16k dps on a moros is on blasters... Only good on med and small towers or offline poses. And other caps in siege/triage...

Also remember - the dreads do not have any drones now. ANY DRONES. So they'll need a support fleet, since with the new mechanic you can't logoff when you'r aggroed and that timer can be extended. Dreads will be slow, almost immobile cannons with huge dps but only useful in a handfull of situations.

In all others - they won't be worth ****. Still they, will be a lot better than they are now! :) I'm happy with these changes.

Given that Dreads in seige can't move or track, then I'd say that's not very long range at all unless you're mostly fighting the kind of people who kindly stay still when you shoot them, perhaps because they're asleep.

I guess what I'm saying is that dreads will be OP vs the AFK.

Maybe being AFK needs to give some kind of resist bonuses? That might solve the problem.

keep in mind that offline pos' have innate shield resistances to kin/therm, a gallente's worst enemy
granted an online pos will probably have more even resists.
