You perfectly summed up the point of the changes, which is hindering power projection across the map.

Actually, that was me.

Just use chains of JF alts...problem solved.

How does an extra JF alt get your freighter into NPC delve when the shortest route is 7ly? The range nerf to jump freighters is a much bigger deal than cool down.

I whole heatedly agree with these changes, and support the developers intentions of creating player-made jumpgates.

You are kidding yourselves if you think you will implement something like this and people wont exit the ship at every jump just to get further with a different guy.
I personally have 5 carrier toons you put this ill thought short sighted crap in and watch me do exactly this.

CCP has said they're okay with this, because it means on a long range deployment, you're still using 5 alts to get 1 capital ship there a little faster, instead of 5 caps there in the same amount of time like we have today.

The defenders within 5LY can bring a cap per character without any problems.

I only need one they may feel safer with 5

so sov is broken in null yes not cap ship. If you dont want to run eve online any more just shut it down. I now have 15 account I super 3 how are training to get into supers, a rorq account, a jf account, and training up another jf account and was going to train up 2 more of my account so I have a jf of each race. I dont think I'll be doing this now and will most likey not get the other 3 supers. Because what the point of have jump drive ships anymore. If these change go thought you will lose most of your null account who have caps in null. Because I will not be playing on any of my 15 accounts after November. Oh and I was looking in to getting 2 more account but wont be now so your loseing out on 17 account go job on killing eve SadX

I think these changes will be good as a whole..

It will change up the way Null is played. Capitol movement will have more strategic value.. it will matter where you deploy them.

Smaller associations will be more willing to use their bigger toys, without having to feel under the constant threat of getting dropped at any moment (they still will, but they will feel safer)

3rd party involvement in Sov war will be less of a thing.. (except when it comes to Provi)

For instance what i can see as a result of this change Stainwagon will want/need to challenge HERO for Catch, which they are currently in a position where they could attack with capitols without too much timer fuss. Now it would come to a dissension for N3/PL to Commit capitols to help their preferred region owner secure their space, and risk opening up the North for attack from a capitol force of CFC.

It may give some renters the balls to form up a new alliance to try and claim Sov on from their overlords in hope that they would be too busy elsewhere or deem it not worth the effort.

The biggest thing that will come out of this really is that you will see less PL cap fleets dropping on random cruisers in low sec out of boredom. And you wont see the same cap fleet defend/attack two different sides of a region in the space of a hour.

I'm sorry, I'm not going to spend hours of my life to simply move subcapitals around. I refuse to spend half a day simply to move minerals and my production goods to and from Jita. This is a game, not a second job.

On a sidenote, I'm looking forward to follow Grayscale's future in the gaming industry with such an impeccable credential under his belt if this takes place. I believe I have met with two-months old newbies in EVE that understood what is taking place in null more than Grayscale ever could.

This is a righteous burn, and I agree that this idea is so bad that those responsible for it should be the next to be laid off.

To restate a point made 30 pages ago, the smart cap pilots / fleets will fully wait out their cooldowns before jumping again. 45 minutes per 5 LY.

In a big 10% TiDi bash between players, the dogpile can get there at a rate of 5 LY per 4.5 minutes of system fight time.

The repeated jumping will be for emergencies.

The 2nd back-to-back jump will take ~4 hours to decay, so for fights that last a few hours, jumping 10LY to help won't be a huge deal.

CCP, thank you.

With this change, you shift the balance of power even further toward defense. Jump timers in friendly space? No problem, just gate to the nearest station and dock up. Need to project power across multiple regions? Don't jump the ship, jumpclone the character to the nearest cache.

I do truly appreciate everyone else taking the time to exult in how hard this will hurt the CFC. The single most masochistically grind-happy group in the history of EVE, willing to burn down an entire region with torpedo bombers, surely won't be willing to take gates anywhere, right?

I mean, we already do, after all. JBs are convenient, but Elo loves to shoot them, so vOv.

And hey, whose space is right next door to the Forge? Oh, right, ours.

MOA, have fun resupplying 5ZXX w/a 5ly limit on JFs.

TRI, PASTA? Oh, we're going to enjoy starving you all.

Thank you, CCP. Your most sadistic band of masochists may not all realize it yet, but you've given us a wonderful present for Halloween: we'll get to be monsters all winter long.

How dare you hate on the poor masses that live in eve and scrap out very little in life in this game. These poor poor people are going to fall off the bored and die due to starvation from the mighty Ark that fuels their live's being strangled R.I.P. MOA/poor people.

But seriously, this will hurt the JF logistics a LOT. Greyscale if you can't finish your example and state that you should slowboat a carrier 22 gates through null, you MIGht have to tweak some things

I want to give this all the likes.

Dear CCP,

I likely will not quit but I wanted to thank you for really suggesting "fixes" that destroy all the fun I actually have in the game.

Thank you for making suggestions that make the game suck for us. Sure, I'm going to stargate jump a 7 bil JF filled with minerals or product into null.

By the way this will, as usual, hurt the little guy. The big alliances with all the ISK will be able to continue to do what they want the rest of us will just have to accept all the risk as usual.

If you wanted to make some positive changes, try taking the Tech 2 BPO's from the Goons and spreading the wealth.

im sure this has been posted before but it pretty much suggests that this is fail on arrival

And after this change, it just seems that there will be islands in null and low where supers are pocketed and are essentially unbeatable. Cant see how this is a good thing.

Hmmm with these changes you'll be flying T1 freighters down nullsec pipes because (a) hold more (b) cheaper and (c) Jump Freighters will need to use the stargate anyway.
