Hi Everyone,
Please correct me if I'm remembering this incorrectly, but was the prospect not the first of a new line of T2 or T3 mining ships that they were going to be releasing? Has there been any more word regarding any other new roll outs that I somehow missed? If I'm in error I'm sorry for the confusion and thanks in advance for any information anyone here might have regarding this issue.

The prospect is tech 2. And no CCP has mentioned no plans to add more mining ships.

The Coreli Corporation is recruiting.

I think just the mention of new T2 or a T3 mining ships has players across EVE frothing at the mouth for one reason or another... Shocked
The Prospect was introduced as an Expedition Frigate, I don't recall anything about new T2's or a T3 mining vessel, but then again I might be completely wrong... I think they just wanted to make it easier and well safer in a way to go into null or wormholes, harvest resources and get it back to your base instead of using a venture.

What'd be wrong with a T3 mining ship? I think it's really sad that the progression for the most basic of professions is so short compared to EVERY other profession in Eve. Even the Capital progression turns from Mining ship to command ships which just end up squatting in POS's until they have the unfortunate fate of getting bumped out. Even when you look at Exhumers compared to mining barges, the price difference is NOT in line with the difference in ship bonuses.

I'm sure all the suicide gankers in hisec would just love it if CCP released a T3 Mining Barge....

I hate the dirty miners as much as the next person, but have to admit that a T3 mining ship from ORE would be kinda interesting.

I imagine it would cover all the mining related tasks. A sub for mining links, survivability, cap, cov-ops, ore hold, and efficiency, etc...
With such a shiny ship I believe less people would become bot aspirant and actually pay attention as to not lose their Veldspar sucking boat. And Bob forbid, they might actually interact with the rest of EVE.

Fun for the miner, the ganker, and the whole family!

There should be a t3 miner. At least one of the subsystems should give a t3 the ability to mine gas efficiently. As hell you need gas to make t3 stuff anyway.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

I want a pirate faction barge....

Can't be as specialized as T2 ofcourse. I mean Skiff and drones are cool. But pirates are bound to have some crazy configuration. With guns n stuff. Yeah. 425mm railguns would be a good start. Do it like this:

When ORE saw miners moving into ever bigger ships to mine, they saw an opportunity and released their Mining Barges and Exhumers to a wider audience. The massive increase in mining yield these ships provided quickly made them the mining-ship of choice in regulated empire space. The more unsavory elements in EVE however refrained from leaving their adapted battleships and opted for even more specialization instead. Although these "mining ships" lack the firepower of their combat-oriented forefathers, their legacy can still catch a capsuleer off-guard.

That would be pretty cool. Converted BC or BS hulls as mining barges hehe. I know it'd just be a huge target, but I'd love an orca class mining vessel. I know that'd be a botter's dream, so just don't allow them in Hisec like supers and other like sized capital ships. Everyone's fair game in Nullsec.

Your progression is into a Rorqual. That is surely significant enough.

Except as I mentioned earlier, the orca and the Rorqual are command ships, not mining ships. Command ships for Mining vessels unlike command ships for combat vessels cannot also take part in the activity that they boost, IE command combat ships can take part in combat, but Rorqual's or Orca's can't mine & boost.

Many of the cruiser level recon have drone mining bonus. We just don't use them as such, mostly because drones and cloaks don't really go together. Adding a role bonus to the pilgrim to include mining lasers would fill this out, even if it's a slim chance anyone ever used it. They also fit in the idea of the Prospect which is a mining ship able to move with the black ops bridge mechanic but of course Black Ops logistics are kind of dead due to the intell system called local. I've seen situations where I could recon mine and even move the stuff I was gathering to and from high sec to one jump. It all requires that I don't need to in order for it to work though.

During the lead up to the release of the Prospect, there was a lot of requests for additional Expedition Frigates, one each specialized for gas and ice mining. In one of the threads (can't remember if it was Dev blog, F&I, or test server feedback) CCP Fozzie made the comment that an ice mining Expedition Frigate was a definite possibility. Other than that, there wasn't any other mention of more t2 mining ships, frigates or otherwise. As for T3 industrial ships, so far as I know those have always just been pure speculation and dreaming on the part of the players. But, I haven't been around that long so don't quote me on that Big smile

lol antibumping.

Every ganker will love this ship.

I wonder how hard it will make miners rage when they realise
that they lose a week of skilling when they lose their t3 ............................................

OMG THE FORUMS WILL BE FULL OF TEARS !!!!
Horrible thought, tbh. :/

Good night. (:

Because T3's are made with reverse engineered sleeper technology and sleepers have no need for ores. Smile

More T3 ship types in general would be great, why stop at mining ships? I mean, I can't wait to gank a few myself but, why should CCP add those before combat frigates, battleships, battlecruisers, hell even capitals? On the other hand, they really need to do a balancing pass on the ones we already have before they go diving in the deep end of adding more.

Based on some of the posts, do people not realize where the ammo, ships, modules, etc. found for sale on the market come from? Do they honestly think that their buying of equipment off the market is the same as buying gear from an NPC vendor?

Are you implying that a few miners in high sec getting ganked will somehow adversely affect the market to the point of total collapse? Cuz, people do mine in low and null you know, we don't need you as much as you think we do. And there are so many high sec miners, ganking them all is way too much effort.
