Already possible. You need to click and hold the LMB for a couple of seconds.

Slow notifications....

So what is slow about them. Since I never delete notifications, just mark them as read, when I enabled new feature there was 550 or so. Clicking on the little icon to list them, proceeded to list them. The list was expanded from 1 to 550 with what seems to be 1 added per frame to the list. This appending got slower and slower eventually driving down my FPS from 60 (capped) to 13. Seems that your list.append() function is linear with number of items in the list, instead of constant time.

Secondly, after the list was finally loaded, I only see latest 4 or 5 or something. Then why is my FPS stuck at 30? Closing down the notification area bumps fps back up to 60.

Turning off my FPS cap to immediate (instead of interval one) gets results

- 85-95 fps around some POS
- linearly down to 13 as the list is loaded
- 41 once the list is loaded
- 85-95 once I close the list

Please fix. You don't add items to a list and sort them at same time. You concatenate *then* sort by key at the end - never try to keep the list sorted especially if its something like a vector. Then you only draw the first 4, not all of them. I'm not certain why there is such a performance hit otherwise. (I can't see your code)

I like the new notification feature a lot. However, it doesn't quite replace the old Watchlist for me just yet.

A few points regarding this:

- As people have pointed out already, I think a standings icon is necessary.
- Showing labels in the currently empty space below the character name when a contact logs on or off would be great.
- If the above isn't feasible, showing the label text on hover/mouseover would be good

Other than that, I've had no problems with the feature during my first short use.

Here are my thoughts on the notification system so far.

  • Be able to limit the history (days, week, months?)
  • Example, i want only to have notification scroll-back at max 7days.

  • Clear Notifications (Remove items from the list)
  • Example i have some notifications i want to have left but some i don't simple x when hovering and also maybe a gesture slide like you got on Android to remove them.

  • Have a slight delay on tooltips when hovering over items.
  • (When scrolling and having mouse-over it just spams and mostly covers the area you actually want to see.)

  • Able to re-size the window not only vertically but horizontally as well
  • (We have widescreen nowdays, why not use that if possible.)

  • Notification icon should move when opening the neocom together with other elements IF
  • its stacked against another element that also moves. (would be great if possible)

Another thought I had. Instead of having the red number counter popup the side of the Notifications button and have it take up more space ( and you know we love our space) why not have it inside the Notification button. It could replace the icon until the count is at 0 again.

The ability to set or make this translucent as well as reposition would be extremely beneficial.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

You can position it by holding Left mouse button down on it and dragging. You have to hold it down for a few seconds. I agree with the translucent idea too.

Is it intentional that the enabled new Notification System disables itself after a relog? I logged back in today and it was disabled again.

As this is apparently the same team that brought us the tooltip fiasco, I'll ask a question here because it is being ignored everywhere else.....

Don't you think that you should follow up on a promise made by yourselves months ago (below), before carrying on with some other pointless crap that will probably end up half-finished like a lot of the new "features" ?

Please add the DOWNTIME notification. The most annoying popup spam in the game and you didn't add it. Seriously, this is the first thing I looked for in the settings.

    My input:

    1. The hability to show a maximum number of notifictions in the list, limited by either ammount of notifications and/or time (say, 1 day/week/month/year old max, or something).
    2. The hability to move the widget wherever you want, but if you want to move it into the neocom, mace it behave like another button, and also make it able to be jusr above the clock, as a button, or, put it inside the Neocom Menu, the E icon, and the red square shows at its side.
    3. Standings for contacts.
    4. Popup windows, for when warping into a site, for downtime, all of them.
    5. When a notification comes up, the red square only gets away if you clic to open the notification list, and then you need to close it, it would be great if it'd disappear if you'd left clic in, in most cases its people login on or off, so you dont really need to open it, and it would be much simpler and neat.
    6. When you open the list and point an item, the tooltip seems useless imho, but someone might like it, the hability to disable tooltip for the Notifications window would be great.
    7. The hability to resize the window.
    8. The hability to clear the window of all notifications.

    EDIT 1: added 5.
    EDIT 2: added 6 and 7.

Clicking on a notification for which an actual notification in the Mail window exists will open that window. However, while the notification gets marked read and removed from the Unread folder, the affected folder labels don't change. Here's an example with a contact notification that I opened from the widget.

    H-here i come :
    1. Add ability to clear history.
    2. Add production and invention notifications to the feed.
    3. Add ability to set notification number/time limits.

Was told to post this here (didn't notice this official thread).

Could we get an option to change the displayed time in notification history from "a few seconds ago," "an hour ago" and things like that to actual Eve time, so we can see what minute the notification. It'd be more useful for certain things.

Performance of displaying a lot of notifications is something we are looking at. Currently the performance hit is mostly because all of the UI elements are created every time you open the notification history. This should be less of an issue when you can clear the history but we aim to improve the overall performance with hundreds of notifications in the list.

I didn't notice it before, (and it has been stated here multiple times) but standings icon is a must...and/or the ability to filter out login/logoff notifications by standings.

    Some feedback:

-Loving that the notifications popups don't happen when you are in camera mode (CTRL+F9) - I tested this with watchlist, and no popup. Great! LolLol

-The notifications for your watchlist don't include standings, as they used to. This is pretty important, as you'd want the popup to include more than just the online/offline status. When I see a -10 log in, it should grab my attention immediately, as there is a reason I have them watchlisted.

-I can see that when you get a new application to your corporation, the picture has a light blue + icon inside the picture frame in the bottom right. I assume this is to show the action of them applying to your corporation. When they are accepted, the picture has no in-frame icon in the notification. This is confusing, as it makes it look like it's a +5 standing, even if you are neutral to that character. You may want to consider changing this icon, and adding a different one for their joining your corporation.

Important - "Standings" and "Action" icons on the need to be clearly separated, and it shouldn't make the picture frame too crowded.
