Oceanus is being deployed to TQ tomorrow, September 30th. With it we will add easier importing and exporting of fittings that will be pleasant for the various 3rd party tools that need (and give) fitting information. CCP karkur has written a dev blog to detail the change.

Head over to read it.

It will be easier than ever to create and share your favorite fit in chats and on forums. Seek advice on your fitting skills starting tomorrow, with Oceanus!

Answering some questions:
-The xml import/export functionality is exactly the same as before
-The importing of fittings only happens when clicking that "import from clipboard button", we don't monitor your clipboard.

The XML export(/import) code is untouched by this, I assume? Failed to test that right from the start. Localized clients with localized tooltips still break this old school method of import/export.

For the intended feature: ♥ once more!

Also created EBR-24384 for a still english label for the "Copy to Clipboard" button while using the German Language version of the client.

As always best part of patch notes is CCP karkur's part.

All my space likes for the day to CCP Karkur for this addition. I know that corporation fitting managers throughout New Eden are praising you.

When will we get modules in cargo in fittings? That would be the best thing ever besides strawberry yoghurt icecream

To this day I have not understood why the so called 'EFT format' lists low slot modules at the top and high slot at the bottom. Makes no sense to me. Wouldn't it be much more logical to do:

1. Shipname
2. High Slots
3. Mid Slots
4. Low Slots
5. Rigs
6. Drones
7. Cargo

?

Not that I'm suggesting to change it, I just don't understand why it is the way it is.

I don't know... but (as far as I can tell) EFT, Pyfa and now the EVE client don't care what order the things are in when importing, since they do know where each belongs.

So we could just put a list and it would work it out?

Gun
midslot
gun
lowslot
midslot
gun
rig
gun
drone

?

No Worries

Tested that:

Turns to this. One curious thing: charges that are in the line of a module (turret, launcher, capacitor booster) get added to the charges section this way.

At least since before 2009. I'm not sure of its early history.
