Look, I know Riot has a hell of a lot more cash but damn that is how a Tournament should be run.

Whether you like LoL of not, just watch a few games of this years World Championship and tell me they do not put on a great show.

Their commentators make ours look horridly amateurish. They are so much better it is embarrassing.

Do you have any idea how hard it is? There are many both small and large LoL tournaments that gives the commentators a lot of experiance before commenting on the World Championship while the EVE people are pretty much limited to twice a year (or more if you include SCL). The same goes for pretty much everyone else in the staff and for the LoL tournaments there are professionals involved while AT and NEO are run my ccp employees in their sparetime.

When your a person looking in from the outside the things you have talked about doesn't matter.

We may know that our commentators are just people doing it in their spare time but those watching from the outside just see people with no charisma, poor use of language and just plain suck.

But really if you compare LoL to EvE you would know that LoL is a trash game ;)

If you really must play moba, then atleast play a real one like Smite or HoN ...

thats the problem right there. CCP are too tight and thats why no one has heard of the game outside of our community despite it being around for over a decade.

If I were the CEO of CCP they'd be some heads on spikes outside my office. This game is genious but the morons running it are not.

Kudos to the guys at CCP who do use their spare time to do this and shame on CCP for allowing it.

I was a player commentator for five tournaments. I know how difficult it is. Some people thought I was good at it, some people thought I was terrible. In comparison to the guys we've had since the early days of tournament hosting, I was mediocre at best.

Regardless of the outcome of quality, these guys are under a lot of pressure, with a hell of a lot of variables and possibilities to be analyzing and watching out for. I applaud them for having the backbone to get on camera in front of thousands of people who're watching their every move.

Sorry to be harsh, but this is a case of nut up or shut up, if you don't like the quality of commentary and think you're all that, apply for ATXIII and see if you can do it better, or host your own stream where you can commentate yourself.

Really simple. Smile

It's also worth mentioning that lol has but a fraction of the variety of EvE. Character builds are standard, her types used are a fairly small set, and there is very little unique variety to the arenas. Ignoring the vast amount more practice that they have the opportunity to do with all the constant tournaments, it's an easier job.

But please, do a better job. Show us how terrible our eve commentators are, by outdoing them.

Also if we could get Ravi to do some voice acting and replace aura, that would be great, thanks.

It's also worth mentioning that LoL is a completely different Game. In an EvE-fight, there are no Ambushes (at least in the tournament). You can´t shout "Oh my god he just used this and that spell".

But I have to agree that our commentators tend to start to brabble obout different stuff and miss important things during the fight. For example the fight were Hydra lost the first time, I saw the Smartbombs killing the Hydra-drones and knew: The Navy-Vexors only have one flight left, and they can´t get through the Marauders Smartbombs. But it seemed like none of the commentors realised this...

When ATXIII is in pre-planning and we're working on it, we'll make a call for sign ups Smile

As if everyone doesn't just watch for the advertisements.
I will admit, I do wait till the next day after each set of matches so that I can skip the commentary between fights.

Oh sure especially when you called Michael Bolton III , i mean think of all the people that know something about the game and watching someone that has no idea about what he is talking not say minimum knowledge of the game. How would you feel ? I can tell you one things is crap, and to be honest when you apply for these kind of things at least do your homework before hand don't go in front of the camera to be a mascot. Not to mention you employed him. If you should take an example take Fozzie's example he always knew what he was talking about and had a good knowledge about the game( i am not a big fan for his changes but what is his is his).
Bottom line get people that know what they are talking about with a good knowledge all around about the game, not mascots.
