I have spent considerable time in close proximity to the warp core of my ship to experience a mild euphoric bloodthirst.

But in my experience (I use this word loosely, but it would be too much to explain just now) the byproducts of industrial work can produce more powerful long term distortion effects on the mind. Even moreso than boosters..

..and if you happen to grind up Ark or Bis and steep it in runoff or processed coolant (with heavy metals reasonably filtered out, of course), this can go a long way in profoundly changing your brainwave patterns.

Just a nitpick of course, but neither Sansha, Blood Raiders or rogue drones are races.

Races are such things as Deteis, Brutor and Nikunni. Sansha's Nation and the Blood Raiders consist of the various races, so you could argue that some races are more susceptible to the different ideologies of the different factions, although in the case of the Sansha the operation theatre needs to be taken into account, as they can and will convert people against their will. The Blood Raiders will as well of course, under the course of arms and exploitation.

The rogue drones are no race in particular, but something like an over complex AI run amok. They are very active with algorithms that promote growth and reproduction, but don't seem to exert any behaviour beyond that. That I know off, of course. I'm sure that more informed researchers could shed more light onto the situation.

That said.

As best as I can decipher the cryptic messages.... Implants combined with automation of your mind can lead to dementia of both consciousness and bodily function. I have to agree on that, experiencing the various behaviours of fellow capsuleers.

This may cause an attractiveness to factions that heavily promote these functions, such as the Sansha. Or induce a feeling of familiarity with rogue drones and even sleepers. Not that these are real, but to the subject in question they would appear to be real and thus a sort of spiritual reality.

I also agree that the cure would found in getting rid of all the automation and technology, returning to be basics on a planet. Just as simple as possible, food, shelter, company. Therapeutic!

Anyway, interesting.
Keep us updated please.

I think she's trying to say, miners go crazy.

It might be easier to say: they should stop watching so many holovids when they should be watching their overview scan reports. That tends to be more the actual cause of their "disassociation" than the purification processes of Arkanon or Bistot. They're not insane dying out there while not aligning, they're usually simply not paying attention.

Having done some work with mining corporations, other than the usual mild levels of disorientation (not remembering where they are, their actual names at times, etc), they're at about the same level of coherence as the majority of Capsuleers.

"I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise beyond the highest which is in each one of you - so the wicked and the weak cannot fall lower than the lowest which is in you also.  And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of the whole tree, so the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all."

I had to edit it as my text to speech program is acting up, but the general gist is the same.

I say miners go crazy due to abject boredom. Seriously, all a miner does is stare at rocks all day. Soon they become so lethargic they won't even notice the Catalysts that warp in and lock them.

Boredom is a mind killer.

In a sense, yes. Follow that line of logic, then so are Gallente holovodis so full of loud explosions they don't hear the Catalysts tearing through armor until the hull alarms go off.

But that's a "Bay Film" for you, hm?

This is rather subjective.

You could easily argue that a miners tasks are simple enough to free up the time to do many other things. Such as responding on the IGS, find the best revenue on the market of the mined product, contact friends and keep them informed and or a multitude of creative solutions to the issue of 'boredom'.

Honestly, roaming around in a frigate coursing through one system to the next just trying to find something to engage is just as repetitive and boring.

That said, repetitiveness is boring. Automating that repetitiveness just leaves you with more boredom!

And yet there are still those who do nothing but stare at rocks.

Such a scathing opinion of geologists. I am curious as to the cause?

Since I'm doing it while plugged into the ship, strip poker is not an option. I do it drunk. Or I do it with a book. Or an opened Market Window.

Same thing I do with fishing.

Would be a rather short game of strip poker anyway. *snickers xD*

I heard miners used strip miners. But I think I never saw how strip pokers work.
I hope it isn't a weapon and you don't poke dancers through, or I will have to report you to CONCORD.

No weapons in strip poker. It's a card game..... You must live a sheltered life.

I am a soldier, Mr. Toov, and I must not let myself to be sheltered, instead, it is my duty to shelter others.
Besides, anything can be a weapon. Poker sounds indeed as a weapon. Even a card can be a weapon, especially with sharpened edges.
