Just an idea that I've had in my head for a while.

What if instead of taking all of Tranquility down every day, individual nodes were taken down piecemeal? This way players would be able to move to a different system as the node that system is on is taken down. This would allow people to stay online for longer periods, allow certain systems to go down at different times based on the activity on the node, and in general contribute to the overall sense of being in a contiguous universe.

I'm not saying this is totally possible based on how Tranquility is designed, its just an idea I had while POS spinning.

What would be the benefit? Currently downtimes are short already and happen when it is good for CCP to do their work. Some of their systems seem to require a reboot anyway and I'm not sure all that can be done on a system-by-system basis. It would also create possible problems where CCP decides the outcome of conflicts by bringing a system down, which heavily favors 1 side of the conflict. That can be mitigated, but unequal treatment is inevitable and worse neither side can plan for them, since the systems aren't being brought down during any specific time of day anymore. I see a lot of potential for new problems, problems which don't currently exist, so again I ask what is the value added and is it worth all the trouble.
