Has anybody overcome a problem with patching where the client just doesn't want to update.

It goes to 25% on 'Compiling Eve Online Mac Patch' and then always fails with a long exception error message.

If anybody has got around this problem I'd love to hear it as it's driving me nuts. It's not on all patches but it seems to be a CCP side thing as even with old versions of the client that has updated to other patches will not update to the current one.

Solutions would be great :)

Thanks

Having the same issues today.

Just a tiny percent of the launcher updates, then it rolls backwards, starts up again, then fails with the following error:

FAILED TO DOWNLOAD UPDATE FOR EVE ONLINE LAUNCHER

Running the game through the python launcher I see this in the terminal window:

Downloading update from http://content.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVE%20Online-2.1.826897.macosx.zip
INFO - Error: unable to fetch version 2.1.826897

I tried many of the workarounds that I have been looking at on the forums with no effects. About ready to just re-install but that will take me days to download on this connection right now. Ain't nobody got time for that.

If you download that linked zip file, you can manually drop it's contents into your EVE Online.app.

  • If you open the zip file, it will contain "EVE Online.app" but it's not an EVE Client, but the EVE Launcher.
  • Right click it and go to "EVE Online.app/appdata/" you should see a folder named "EVE Online-2.1.826897.macosx"
  • In another Finder window, navigate to your applications, and view the contents of the "EVE Online.app"
  • Open the appdata folder.

At this point you should have two finder windows open, one containing the appdata folder of the fresh EVE Launcher and the other containing the appdata folder of your EVE Online game client. You can now drag the "EVE Online-2.1.826897.macosx" folder into the EVE Online client, and delete the older "EVE Online-2.1.655130.macosx" folder.
