POS Fuel Blocks Profit?

For a time, I was manufacturing fuel blocks. Not for primarily for profit, but to run a POS. Three characters were involved: all three mined ice, one did PI, one did manufacturing and hauling. My goal was to keep two months worth of fuel on-hand at all time and I sold off excess blocks and components as supplemental income. I ended up making about twice as much as I needed and I still had abundant time to do other things.

It was interesting to figure it all out and it did make me some ISK from the sell-offs, but if pure profitability was my main concern I am quite sure I could have been spending my time better. As one example, keeping a tower anchored but offlined and selling compressed ore/ice would easily have made more ISK than selling fuel blocks, and with a lot less hassle. After the holidays, I'll likely revert to this model.
