Looking for a good mining POS location

Hi. I'm looking for a place to put in a few moon mining POS's. Obviously it needs to be low sec. I'm not picky about what I mine either. I just want to do SOMETHING.

I can pay a moon rental fee if it's a safe place with sovereignty, or I can simply build a really well defended POS.

Though I'd prefer to pay for safety than to use valuable CPU to build safety, but I'm really desperate for a location, so I'm not picky.

I'm just a one man corp, so this POS is for me, and me only. Rock and Roll.

I was working on a deal to put one in a really safe null sec location, but the alliance that had sovereignty has since kind of "lost sovereignty".

Any info is good info. Thanks.

Think about what u are asking for one moment. Do you realy think that if someone knows the location of a profitable moon he will give it to you ? Realy ?

Even if u FIND one, do you realy think that your one man corp gonna sustain a POS in null sec or low sec if a profitable moon under it. HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Someone just gonna blow up your pos with you and your moon harvesters.

No one is gonna do the work for you just need to do the math and find an empty moon in lowsec that has a material you can react or if is profitable from buying stuff off market and reacting defenses don't matter much cause no matter what you put on it if someone wants to take it down it's going down just be sure to fill with stront and put a few guns/hardeners on it

Ya, I was just hoping to find a system with well established sovereignty so I could simply pay isk for the rights to an unused moon. Which is what I was doing before they lost their sovereignty. Even a barren moon can be useful since I can just buy the ingredients to a reaction.

Thanks though. I'll just keep looking for a place to call home. Smile

Forget about low sec then. U can't have sov in there and if there are any valuable moons then they will be mined by the dominant corps/alliances in that area. And you will simply provide a target for bored pilots.

You theoretically can hire systems in null sec, but you won't get any good moons and even if you do find a moon in null sec and put up a pos for reactions, the income will fall far shorter than the investment which will include the renter fees, logistics, fuel etc. Hiring a null system for a one man corp is neither profitable nor sensible imo.

You can always put up a pos in highsec and try copying/researching etc if you really have the urge to do something. this is the best option for you to get your feet wet in pos managing.

How exactly do you see that working? If the rental price is higher than the value of the moon mineral, you'd lose ISK. If the rental price is lower, why wouldn't the owning alliance just tower it and get more money for themselves without having to deal with a potentially hostile third party?

If you just want to run reactions, take a pick from the hundreds of empty moons in lowsec and plop a bunch of ECM things on it. Nobody enjoys POS shooting that much to take it down just for shits&giggles.

Most 0.0 rental agreements exclude moon mining explicitely anyway.

As said above, your best bet is running reactions in lowsec. Both gas and low-end mineral moons are easily available there. You just need some time checking dotlan and scanning towers in a covops.

What happens in lowsec, stays in lowsec, lowering the barrier to entry to lowsec PVP: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=476644&#post476644

All valuable low sec moons have already been surveyed and thus taken. See here.

However, you may be able to find a low value moon which contains low end moon minerals such as Evaporite Deposits/Hydrocarbons/Silicates/etc... and use those to leverage a reaction POS.
