I don't know about everyone else, but I know that I'm not alone in this.

I'm tired of having my ships destroyed in high sec while I'm carrying expensive goods. I'm tired of not being able to retaliate against people like the agents of New Order because I lack the isk, guns, and skills to do so.

They call us care bears, but they don't understand that we are the ones who make it possible for them to build their ships. They don't understand that we are the ones who harvest the minerals, ship them, and sell them. And yet, they abuse us. The suicide gankers make it more work than it's worth to mine, ship, and sell.

We might not be the ace pilots that a lot of the Eve community is, but we run the markets and the asteroid belts. If we wanted to fight in pvp combat, we would go to low or null sec space. We pvp on the markets, not in ships.

Personally, I joined Eve because it looked like a fun space sim, and it's a good game, for the most part, but I recently quit because I don't want to deal with the suicide gankers anymore. I'm taking a stand against allowing this kind of behavior, and if I have to stand alone at first, then I will. It saddens me to see such a great game stained by the company that made it.

I know, a lot of you are going to call me a carebear crybaby, and what not, but I don't really care. I'll bump this thread to eternity, and repost it as many times as it takes to make what I want happen. I know there are others out there who feel the way I do, and CCP might listen if we all raise our voices together.

I know there have been attempts like this in the past, but we have lacked unity and persistence. I will persist when others tire. I will unite us when we are divided. I will bring the carebears together, and together we will crush the suicide gankers and wannabe Concord agents into the dirt.

CCP will listen to us. They will change. They will submit to the will of the community.

They already did all those things, that's why highsec works the way it does.

Nice troll, by the w… no, wait, I don't mean “nice” do I? Roll

I'm not trolling. I'm very serious about this. If this thread gets locked, I'll make another. If this account gets banned, I'll make another. If my IP gets banned, I'll mask it. CCP will hear me and the others who feel the way I do.

This doesn t even smell like a troll.

Which is weird.

Feels seriously genuine......

This guy is horribly disconnected from the game...

Hmmm... doesn't feel right when it's not realtime. :/

Op should be banned.
Or watch listed and ganked....by many people maybe....things could happen...

Op yells for PvP from happening in High Sec, if that happens, OP will start complaining because he wasn't making enough ISK when he takes his goods to market since the market would be flooded with goods due to the lack of ganking. High Sec is fine, don't want to lose a ship to a gank, don't make yourself a target.

So you're admitting that you're trolling then.

You have been heard and you have been deemed irrelevant. Now go play a game you actually want to play instead of trolling.

Obvious troll bait it obvious. And not very clever.

Try harder noob. Train forum trolling to at least level 1. WTF IS PROTUS?

Also, challenging the new Vice Admiral so early in his tenure might lead him to string you from the yardarm as a warning to others.

No. I just said I wasn't. Good try, tho.

Feh. Good luck. I've already stopped playing, and I won't be resubscribing until pvp is removed from high sec anyways, so you won't be able to gank me.

Indeed you did. See that whole rant about how you intend to get IP-banned over the issue of not wanting to play this game. That's how much you're trolling.

So, you're basically saying that you're going to keep trolling until your sub runs out. Of course, this contradicts your previously stated intent of trolling, but meh… that's trolls for you — no-one has ever accused them of being consistent.

OP may have a point. Only 25% of the player base plays EVE for the PvP. (skip down to the "Which of the following, if any, influenced your decision to subscribe to EVE online".)

Also, /popcorn...

Twisted

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Eve is not a game for the faint hearted. It's a game that will chew you up and spit you out in the blink of an eye if you even think about letting your guard down or becoming complacent.

While every other MMO starts off with an intro that tells you you're going to be the savior of the realm, holds your hand, protects you, nurtures your development and ultimately guides you to your destiny as a hero along with several other million players who've had the exact same experience, EVE assaults you from the second you begin to play after you create a character, spitting you out into a universe that under the surface, is so complex that it's enough to make your head explode.

The entire design is based around being harsh, vicious, relentless, hostile and cold. It's about action and reaction, and the story that unfolds as you experience these two things.

True, we're working hard to lower the bar of entry so that more players can enjoy EVE and can get into the game. Our NPE (New Player Experience) is challenging, and we're trying to improve it to better prepare rookies for what lies out there, but when you start to play eve, you'll always start out as the little fish in the big pond.

The only way to grow is to voraciously consume what's around you, and its your choice whether that happens to be New Eden's abundant natural resources, or the other people who're also fighting their way to the top.

EVE is a playing experience like no other, where every action or reaction resonates through a single universe and is felt by players from all corners of the word. There are no shards here, no mirror universes, no instances and very few rules. If you stumble across something valuable, then chances are someone else already knows where you are, or is working their way toward you and you better be prepared to fight for what you've discovered.

EVE will test you from the outset, from the very second you undock and glimpse the stars, and will take pleasure from sorting those who can survive from those who'd rather curl up and perish.

EVE will let you fight until you collapse, then let you struggle to your feet, exhausted from the effort. Then when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel it'll kick you flat on your ass in the mud again and ask you why you deserve to be standing. It'll test you against every other individual playing at some point or another, and it'll ask for answers.

Give it an answer and maybe it'll let you up again, long enough to gather your thoughts. After a few more steps you're on the ground again and it's asking more questions.

EVE is designed to be harsh, it's designed to be challenging, and it's designed to be so deep and complex that it should fascinate and terrify you at the same time.

Corporation, Alliances and coalitions of tens of thousands have risen and fallen on these basic principles, and every one of those thousands of people has their own unique story to tell about how it affected them and what they experienced.

That's the beauty of EVE. Action and reaction. Emergence.

Welcome to the most frightening virtual playground you'll ever experience.

…well, aside from the simple fact that the graph isn't really saying that, and that 75% of the players like PvP — a lot more than for any other activity in the game. So no, the OP does not have a point. Blink

This has gone beyond danger and excitement. This has become plain harassment and is a problem. Something needs to be done to reign in the players who abuse their ability to gank and harass other players. They need to learn to appreciate their freedoms, and learn to respect it.
