So what do people think of EVE's new release schedule?

I think it's a great way to distract from the fact that you'll never see major content again in EVE.

Does seem that way.

Shame about all the waste effort that went into World of Darkness, I wonder what could have been achieved if all those devs were focused on EVE.

Yep. I started playing Dec 2012... maybe I haven't been around long enough to know better, but I was really excited when at Fanfest they mentioned rebalancing recons (and mentioned the Pilgrim by name)..... havent heard a word about it since... What?

I think it's GREAT..... nice to get little bite size things to check out.

The burner missions so far of all the updates I've played over the 3 years of EVE fun, is BY FAR the BEST thing they've come up with.... do I sound excited, well I am. It's nice to see them go in a challenging direction and really show love to PVE and not just the same level 4 mission with different named ships.

I like it they can fix and balance things faster rather than waiting 6 months for a release. I still want 1 major thing every 6 months but right now they are taking care of all the little things that needed to be fixed.

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

so far, i like it.

industry will be the first thing that's gonna profit from the new release model.

so far, we had Crius (the bulk of which was developed under the old model).

Things took a while to adjust while the devs were working on invention changes.

The next release after Oceanus will bring those invention changes.

I suspect the devs are now working on Industry 1.1 based on feedback from the industry feedback thread and a lot of really good discussion with the devs working on the feature.

This kind of work would have been simply impossible under the old release model. the feature would have been dropped and left in a playable state after the first point release.

When the change of pace was announced for game updates it was said that it would provide more flexibility and rapidity for game changes and I think that the new update schedule is effective in that way.

Now reading previous posts, it seems players mostly see it as a cover up for less major changes. I don't think it's an intended thing but it's true that the last 3 updates focused on details that have to be addressed but aren't very, may I say "glamorous" for invested players.

So I'd say it's a gain for a loss... for now. Hopefully, one of the expansions to come will prove all pessimists wrong with a knock-you-out-of-your-shoes feature...

... would really like to have a "BIG" release at some point... something with a few months of hooplah and shameless speculation...

Six week releases are cool for their own obvious advantages -- but I MISS the BIG ONES ! ! !

MOAR BIG ONES ! ! ! ... with PSHHHHHHH ! ! !
