What would you do?

I would simply not do FW. That whole thing seems to be broken in more than one way all the time. Seriously, in my time in EvE I don't think it has ever worked right. It suffers from the same problem as WoW Battlegrounds. People just want the points for the least effort. The only way to fix it would be to have CCP employees actively leading and monitoring it 24/7 and kicking the people just trying to exploit ****. Even then that wouldn't fix the fundamental issue with multiboxers.

Multiboxing is so easy in this game I often think the 35k players logged on at peak times are really the same 10k people with 3 or more accounts.

More often than not, posts of this nature are made with inflammatory intent and are designed to promote trolling and flaming. Therefore, the posting of links to kill reports from any third party site, or the direct copy-pasting of kill reports from in game is prohibited on all forum channels of the EVE Online Forums, with the exception of the Crime & Punishment Channel.

Snipped a killmail. Posting those is not allowed.

in your tests, Did you have ECCM fitted to your booster? Also did you have ECCM implants in your Booster pilots head? Come back to me when you have done that.

Done. I still managed to do it even with a t3 booster which already has a small sig radius/high sensor strength.

Your argument is now officially invalid.

And you did not have a Virtue implant set in your scanners head? I beg for a video of your testing., I Really would love to see how you do it. Would teach me so much. (not trolling)

Also for the na sayers about my statement about un subbing. My accounts are at this time "CANCELLED". I Will not pay CCP any more of MY real money any time soon. (Sure I will use PLEX and yes I do know that in a round about way CCP in effect makes more real money that way).

I would like to thank the folks who came back with positive and good ideas about counters and ship fittings. It helped a lot.

To them that complained and bitched. You mad Bra? (I feel so ugly for saying that)

This might be off the general topic of the OP's post but would anyone contest me if I said that a garmur is out of place as a viable ship in EVE compared to the other ships of similar class? How does one counter a garmur after the ability to scram him goes away? The Garmur seems virtually untouchable with an extremely fast base speed with people lining them up with prop mods that allow them to do it.

I think the entire Mordus Legion ships should have been Minmatar Caldari ships seeing as there are none for that race combination and Gallente Caldari already had a pirate faction ship for that combination. The scram and disruptor range bonus seems unfitting for the ship as the only other place to have such an ability is with a proteus or T2 recon ship. I'm personally having trouble of thinking of a way to hard counter it without resorting to ECM, maybe with a vigilant or a hyena but those are only semi-useful in that case and wouldn't be able to put up with the raw power and agility of the garmur. Another thing with ECM, if I have to bring a caldari ship to every fight to counter potential garmurs with few other options, EC-300's don't have the speed to keep up with a nano garmur. I also suppose using a missile ship wouldn't be effective either because of the high speed of the garmur resulting in extremely little damage being applied.

I suppose this is similar to the Ishtar issue, the Ishtar has enough PG to run two 1600mm plates, not many other cruisers even have that ability. With that comes the ishtar's ability to project its abilities the same way the garmur does it seems unfitting for EVE at the current time when counters are difficult for them.

Tough situation and I've had similar against a Garmur.

Kind of come to the conclusion that the juicier target is the Tengu, but even in the absense of scanning it down with an alt, combat probes in space give them pause.

Not the most interesting of pvp situations when you're alone, but 'gf' is still the valid response when it happens.

Me, Scip and the gang went hunting for a Garmur once in a lowsec complex.

I will keep it short as there is aready enough wall of text in this thread.
How many smartbombs can you fit on a destroyer? Do they work in plexes?

Cry, whine, *****, and moan

I only made it into page 3 before I couldn't stand to read anymore of OP's complaining, but still wasted enough time to scan the rest of the thread to make sure OP didn't change his tone. ISD needs to lock this thread because OP doesn't want to listen to anyone's advice. He just wants to troll on people until CCP concedes to his ridiculous demands to change the game just for him.

OP, the questions isn't what we would do, because it's obvious you don't care what we would do, the question is what you should do. What you should do is biomass and go troll on some other game's forums. Look into Hello Kitty Online, that should be about your speed.

As many others have already said, it is actually a 2v1 situation, so you should not be complaining about not being able to win with 1 ship.

And if you are seriously saying that you can't fight them with more than 1 ship then you are just trolling or an idiot. It seems like you are complaining that you'd have to chase them around to catch them, and somehow that is impossible so not even worth trying to do.

If that is what you have to do, then do it or quit moaning about it. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. Surely you'd at least try to catch them first before saying you can't? Did you even try? Or do you just want victory handed to you on a plate?

The best choice is a coercer, which can sport a full set of t2 small smartbombs.

A small set of named ones can't even kill a pod in one cycle ...
... t2 are enough for that, but is stupid to fit.

The only good choice for small smartbombs on a destroyer is a coercer ...
... and believe me when I tell you that it still sucks bigtime.

Absolutely not worth it.

It only starts becoming at least half reasonable if you fit them on a maller,
on which you can reach around 1k alpha ... every 6 seconds at max skills.

Still not worth it.

On battlecruisers ... the same.
Not worth it.

And on battleships ... well ...
... there they would be worth it ...
... but the jump from b/c to b/s pricewise is ridiculous.

A t2 fitted Apoc sports 2400 alpha ...
... it's ridiculous.

t1, named and t2 smartbombs are seriously underpowered.

Yes, I've researched extensively.

I know why this did not work. He had a t3 TENGU BOOSTER. That was the neutral that was in system when I 1st logged in.

...

So what would you do to combat this?

Ummm... Well, first you said you knew what was coming. If you are surprised about his 7km/s + 38km point range + being able to burn away from a destroyer in time (sebos dont matter with their base scanres and him going well over 10km/s OH) apparently you did not.

What can you do?

  1. Bring friends. He does, he wins.
  2. Bring better ships. He does, he wins.

Better ships especially is referring to either ships that are fast enough to catch him on the entry button, say a Interceptor, or ships that do NOT use missiles and have the necessary range, because missiles don't hit ships that fly faster than the missiles themselves.
