Starting T3 reverse Invention - Guide?

Hello,

I was wondering, if there is a good source of info for doing this?

My corp has tasked me with starting up a strat cruiser production line, I have a 10Bil budget.

I have downloaded the Isk vol 1 guide, which is pretty good, but was looking for more of a in depth "beginner" section which i found it didn't really address. I know about invention proper, the skills, the basic mechanics of it, but some areas are a lil vague to me.

As for cost effectiveness:

I can setup a WH pos, mine some of the gases, resources to mitigate the costs, but I don't have the personnel to maintain a strong presence to hold one, assuming a 1-4 lvl wh. I planned on either buying or trading for the higher level gases / materials for the components. I really don't want to go WH though, tbh, I don't have a great deal of contiguous play time, a lil here, a lil there...

I was thinking about buying "starter supplies" to get a feel of the rate of return, and build up enough comps to at least attempt a few reverse eng cycles, but I read it is kinda random, so I find myself wondering if I should try and build / buy a mix of the items or start some other way.

I'm doing it for the experience, 1st, and to get corp into T3 ships 2nd.
I have looked around the market, and some of the comps are quite cheap, while others are pretty pricey.
I could just buy the ships, but, that really doesn't address #1

I'm looking for some advice, tutorship, (flames, trolls and other such nonsense) in order to weed though the task and decide if I want to accept the task, or just decline and have corp buy the ships with the money pledged.

I kinda want to at least dabble in it, I just don't want to send 10bil corp assets and say, "ok I know what not to do now..."

thoughts?

The major difficulty with WH production is the logistics.

You'll have to import many materials and be careful not to collapse the exit.

Can't say much about the operations, i'm too noob with WH What?

I'd like to try it buy Sleepers hit too hard Sad

I used this guide: http://www.eve-guides.com/ui/reverseeng.php

I also have T3 production in EVE IPH, so you might want to tinker with that for a bit to see the different prices and such. In general I would stay away from Tengu production as it's more saturated than the others (most popular T3 ship) and the components are higher in price (decryptor mainly).

For WH question, I would just set up a high sec POS and buy everything you need. Trying to get all the parts from a WH is slow going compared to just moving your 10bil budget around.

Let me know if that helps.

Production is producing them, not harvesting the materials for it. Buy that cheap off the market, not only jita.

Invention is another task, which is different from production.

Harvesting and mining is another task..

So what you do is split all this tasks and find out where you can safe most of the isk to produce what you want. Most people in eve sell their materials under the production costs, so dont even try to compete with them.
You probable find that buying the ship is cheaper then producing them meanwhile you do something different with much more profit.

Thanks all for the replies -

Those two sites / posts are just what i was looking for.

One question, the tools, are they found, or built? I have been looking on the market and can find no place selling the print, but the eve guide page alludes to one?

thanks in advance

All the items, except a few of the datacores, are found in wormholes.

I don't know that you would really reduce costs mining the gas in a WH. You have to factor in the fuel costs of keeping the POS running. At 300-400mil a month ou would have to mine a lot of gas to see a savings.
