Concorded for attacking mobile tractor unit.............security status drop and kill rights to mobile tractor owner. Shocked

"Attack mechanic: Attacking the structure will give a suspect flag to the attacker only. That means anyone can attack them and does not risk being punished by Concord for doing so in high sec systems."

So, what happened?

Well................

I think I have worked out what may have happened, ish.

I scanned down the Tractor with my Buzzard, and saved the location.

Went off to get Manticore to blow it up and loot it. ....Happy Days.... ;-)

....and during the few minutes I was away the Tractor 'perhaps expired' and became a container named 'Mobile Tractor Unit'. I reason this because I stupidly switched safety from amber to red without thinking when the torps did not initially fire.

Swiftly followed by Concord's retribution.......

Also now remembering that it was 'yellow' and not 'white' as it was when I saved the location.

So after switching off safety, AND noticing it was yellow, I still took the shot.........what a ****. :-(

I will not make the same mistake again............. ;-)

This is why the Yellow Safety Button is your friend.

I have also seen people naming their secure cans 'Mobile Depot'.

Cool

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

I think you shot a wreck.

Yellow safety in highsec always, unless you are in warp to a gank target.

A cardinal rule of hunting is to always always identify your target before pulling the trigger.
As a serial muncher of MTU's I can assure you that they're fair game, with no daily bag limit.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Correct, I scanned down a tractor, and during the time I ran back to grab the Manticore it 'must' have expired and reverted to a container.

I'd assumed that when they expired they just 'expire'.

OP your analysis must be correct, either the MTU reverted to a container, or the owner scooped and replaced it while you were away.

Either way, lesson learned, and I'll make sure to watch out for the same situation.
